I took a (old) montior from my company home with me yesterday (...I am the System-Administrator there :D ).
It is a 21inch CRT from a IBM CAD Workstation system that cost around 30.000Euro back in 2000/2001 (the Workstation was like 95% of that i guess^^). But still it is a fucking nice monitor as it was used for industrial design stuff etc.
The monitor has 2 VGA inputs and a switch-button at the frontpanel to switch between the 2 PCs u have plugged on.
It is a flat display running 100hz. The monitor was only used for like 1-2 years here, then the designer working with it got a TFT :D

Really nice as it was "for free". And yes i don't want any TFT monitor ... was using one with 4ms once and still i thought it is "strange" somehow... my girlfriend is using it now :D

no idea if it helps u.. didnt read all
i think i will just download linux install versions via ftp to reach some uber high traffic, hopefully they will kick me then
btw
i ripped a few months ago this monitor from my brother and its pretty nice :)
and now i got that 21inch CRT ... u can buy my 19inch CRT from iiyama ... but it is rather old meanwhile and the picture looks a bit "washed" already :P
he is around 10 year old and you can see the Lochmaske(??) in the glas of the monitor but he rulZ :]
before i used 17" TFT and he wasnt such bad but still
CRT > TFT @gaming
30.000DM max but not even that..
btw n1 monitor :D
With dual XEON prozessors or anything and 4GB RAM etc (around the year 2000)...
Meanwhile those kinda Workstations have become quite cheap (but still can cost up to 8000€), but like 7 years ago those systems cost fucking much.
my mum had such a station at home where she learned auto CAD. 20" CRT 5000DM, 125Mhz Pentium with extra ramupdate from 64 to 128!!! :D Zip-laufwerk, etc..
all in all with a new lexmark 10.000 DM i guess it was in 1997. so i thought 30.000€ for just the monitor was a bit too much :p
I think the monitor is pretty much the same as Sony CPD-G500, which was rated one of the best professional CRT-monitors back in the day. GPD-G500 Cost about $1200 or something.
