and if u could say what u take all these money for, cuz i think the lan is sponsored by devotii too?

the remaining 1k € goes for the air condition
DONT U WANT MORE MONEY FROM IT TO BE WON?
24 teams
i thought he mean the how much the clan pay and how much he win :XD
then what do you want? cdc need to pay on the place they rent and AC and workers so GTFO
€ 50 is imo a bit too much :/
Who has what to gain by sponsoring this event? Please quantify the gains. It is extremely hard to get sponsors, especially sponsors that really contribute a great deal. My first impression is that there isn't much to gain for sponsors so I doubt they invest thousands of euro's in it. I think people really overestimate the extent to what sponsoring teams or events like this results in increased exposure. Assuming increased exposure leads to increased sales. This is extremely overrated. That's why not many teams get sponsors and those that do often don't even get that much as some expect.
Consider CDC. The exposure by sponsoring this event won't be big so no one would be willing to invest loads in it.
What I am trying to say is. People overrate sponsors. That results in a lot of money that still needs to be coughed up by the organizers. That results in entry fees outweighing the prize purse. However, in the end. You all can decide whether you like it. You've got the power! Don't play and they will change but most likely not organize it anymore.
To those of you who have read this reply and have read wipeouts comment, then you really dont need to keep reading cause the rest isnt really that mature or constructive from me.
To those of you who wouldnt come to a LAN whether it was free or not, then go away.
To those of you who can remember RTCW or ET's lack of lans outside of Quakecon maybe you're a tad greatful for all the efforts this site puts in and arent ungreatful fucks like many on this site have become, I apoligise for my upcoming reply.
To those of you who can remember shgOpen and why cpc2 was initially postponed then maybe you'll know why ET was there and which organisation made significant efforts to get it there.
To those of you who are pumu and lie about the money won at quakecon, gg you and snoop are similarly stupid.
To those of you who have gone and run a lan yourself and realise the costs involved, then you'll be bloody impressed by the revenue stream Crossfire operates on.
To the rest of you its quite simple. If you dont like it, DONT COME. Crossfire provides a service which judging by the signups is fulfilling something missing within this community and somehow I doubt the same principles you apply to whining about it will be applied during the event when you're watching it, or whilst you're browsing this site.
If you pay for the LAN, come and we fuck it up you have a valid reason to complain as Crossfire did not fulfil its obligations to customers. As for the rest of you, hi pumu, you dont own shares in Crossfire, I dont publish financial figures every quarter, I dont understand what 'obligation' crossfire owes you to a right of service. Are you a customer?
Crossfire was obliged to run at minimum an online tourney with the Quakecon money, that has been and gone (And we ran two LANs infact) and doing so cost ME personally (not pumu or any of the other whiners) in debt whilst awaiting the money from Quakecon, that situation is never going to happen again.
Claiming comments of others that criticize doesn't mean the comments aren't mature or constructive. For instance, the new journal by Sock makes a good point. You might not agree but I for one didn't look at it that way. Doesn't mean I agree or disagree with said posts but that journal is constructive.
Where? I haven't seen that, you are always saying - dont like dont come dont whine
but instead you could just say, renting lanplace takes about~ x money, stuff costs about~ y money, sponsors helped us with this and that
I respect you for what you are doing for et, but you are bringing this all whine on yourself, i really would like to know where the money goes (not much but still 50 euro is pretty much for some people, and seeing that prize money is less than signups with sponsor support(what support they should give to call LAN by their name?)), if its for some further projects or stuff like that, or even if organising LAN costs THAT much (again with sponsor suppor), i wouldnt care, but if its "MY LAN, DONT LIKE GO AWAY" attitude, then please, dont wonder why everyone are asking questions
and i am not mentioning qcon money
aswell, for me it seems like you are paying sponsors to have their name on event, not the other way around
dont get upset :/
Read wipeouts comment above for a very small part of what you are looking for.
you could just answer, renting LAN place (which is one of the sponsors) costs about 2500 (random number) euros for whole event
all questions answered, no more whine (exept retards)
$15000 equals €5 these days, or am i mistaken?
