mcclaren

slightly suprised no journals (that i could see in all of 20 seconds) have been posted about this, considering what a great season for F1 its been this year

the amount of the fine is pretty harsh imo, but at least the drivers can still race for the title. there was even talk of mcclaren being kicked out of next year but thankfully it seems this isnt the case.

QuoteThree-time world champion Sir Jackie Stewart believes there is more information to be made public.

"This isn't murder that has been carried out, this is something that has happened before and there wasn't even a fine or disciplinary action taken by the same governing body.

"There is something very strange going on, there is no doubt about that.

"From what information we have been given so far, this does not constitute a penalty of this scale with regards to the crime that has been carried out.

"And even if they were found guilty of that particular crime, it doesn't justify this kind of penalty."

QuoteQ: (Dan Knutson – National Speed Sport News) I’m going to change subject, guys, and ask each of you personally what you think of the war in Iraq. Is the situation being made worse by the British and Americans being there? Should they pull out immediately or stay for the long haul?
(None of the drivers are forthcoming)
Q: Let’s start with Robert.
RK: I think we are in a Formula One conference, so I will not answer this question.
Q: Anybody else?
(silence)
the fine is fair enough tbh, I'm surprised they weren't harsher penalities...after reading the full pdf file from the FIA covering all parts of what was discussed, it is 100% clear that mclaren were knowingly stealing ideas.
