Sad endings

Hey guyz! Me and some mates are having a marathon soon and I suggested we'd use the theme "I don't want to live anymore". Basically, we want movies that are extremely depressing and sad. Preferably with sad endings as the whole effect is pretty nullified otherwise.

It's actually not as easy as it sounds. So far I've come up with some suggestions;

* Requiem for a Dream
* A Clockword Orange
* Babel
* The Seventh Sail (not very depressing per say, but it doesn't really cheer you up)

So, help is greatly appriciated.

Parent

Parent

Parent
Yeah, but he still wins.
Parent
there's nothing to "win" tbh =)
i really wouldn't describe it as an happy ending :o
Parent
he figures out how many other jews he could've saved if he sold his expensive car/clothes etc..
Parent
Okay? :p you suck ass Loekino
Schlafes Bruder

Butterfly Effect and Green Mile
butterfly effect is cool, not sad
Parent

Parent
it has a sad ending (don't want to give away too much) and it made me really thoughtful
Parent
hmm, depends on which end you saw, i didnt see the one where he goes back into mums stomach and kills himself
Parent

I cant remember how Hotel Rwanda ended but it was overall pretty depressing.

Jägarna is 100% perfect for this.

Lost in Translation? Maybe, dunno. :/

Memento is one to watch.

La Vita è bella?

Shit cant remember the ending on this one either but Dead Man Walking?

Edward Scissorhands?

The Life of David Gale?

*Descent
la vita e bella is sad :(
Parent
Mhm, was thinking Hotel Rwanda too...

Jägarna? :p it's trash man

And Lost in Translation is more sad than depressing.

La Vita é Bella is sad yes, but it's also very happy at the same time. I mean I don't think the kid cries once.

There's a movie about an irish family that migrates to USA that's incredibly depressing. A child dies like every 20 minutes. Know the name? :>
Parent
No but I know that Jägarna is the best swedish movie ever!

And read through this, might find something

Or you will find something!

Lots of good suggestions but I want something -really- heavy. The kind of movies that makes you wish you were never born. That makes you lose faith in life.
Hotel Rwanda
La vita e bella

Donnie Darko
Trainspotting
Elephant
Christiane F.
Lilja 4-ever (very sad :'()
- Life Is Beautiful (funny at the beginning, but the end is sad ;( )
- Donnie Darko
- Seul contre tous (swedish title: Ensam mot alla - it's probably not really sad, but very disturbing. And maybe look for "Irreversibel", it's from the same guy)
- Monsters Ball (haven't seen it yet)
- Bambi (LoL!!!!!11)
Leaving Las Vegas is a very depressing movie in my eyes.

And A Perfect World has a very sad ending.
- Beyond Borders

- Million Dollar Baby

- Cruel Intentions
Any hitlerfilm because he always commits suicide at the end of the movies :<
You should consider watching 21 grams if you don't mind watching movies from a director who is already in your list (babel). It has pretty sad ending and it's top movie in general.
Citizen Kane
Clockword Orange doesn´t have a sad ending. Watch it again =P
trainspotting
Crash
American Beauty
Léon
The Pianist
Schindler's List
Requiem For A Dream
Saving Private Ryan
Million Dollar Baby
The Green Mile
Mate, Léon is so full of hope it's ridicolous. Apart from that you only brought 2 new movies to the board.

Overall a failure. You're a failure max!

Noone had mentioned:

Saving Private Ryan, Crash, The Pianist or American Beauty. That's 4 bitch!!
Parent
In your sick, twisted world perhaps.
