You don't need a torrent for downloading WoW. It's a completely legal full software download.

(It is a standalone torrent client, but fully legal anyway. In case we got some picky persons around.)

well, i heard a long time ago (could have changed since so) that world of warcraft (the game) was using a legal but considered as a spyware, invisible software used as the cheatprotection of WoW.

Many smart hackers was then able to put some other and definitly _not_ legal 'softwares' together with this 'invisble' wow's third part ... see what i mean ?

and i was wondering about this standalone torrent client .. :)

The same was nC says punkbuster is spywear and illegal and violates us, Can't remember the name of it think its guardian or something was for D2 anyway.

Yes, World of Warcraft uses a background progress checker as cheat protection. But it comes in very useful to keep regular cheaters out. There is no way of installing the game without the Blizzard version of PunkBuster.

It's the full installer. Trials play on the same realm as full members.

Depends on what kind of account has been registered.
Trial account is always a 10 day try-out. Your gameplay is very limited this way, but it's the best way of getting a feeling of the game. Full account is a 3/6/12 month (?) membership, with all functions unlocked. Good job to Blizzard by making this fully server side, so trials and full members have no problems when switching from/to trials membership. This all makes sure that only 1 client is needed for anything.

Ever played a MMORPG before? If yes, you should be able to see through the "appealing appearance" and notice the darkness and boringness of grinding. If not, lucky you, it's not too late to turn back and avoid years of isolation and depression. I'm not kidding

That's what happens when one loses control and has nothing else to focus on. Exactly the same can happen with games like Enemy Territory. For that to happen, it's just a matter of interest.

Only half of it is true. ET does fakes the real world what WoW does. It's realy actually a second home/world, you got everything you need to do, lots of stuffs, it can simpley replace someone's world. Rather than ET, it's all about wars and can be hardly addictive, even if so, it wont be such an hard one.

I was very much addicted to ET. Stepped away to find a new one. Turned out to be WoW. Now I'm a casual WoW player (after a big break, hurray school work) without the need of playing for a living, without making a living of it.

I wasn't comparing the types or background of games, so whether it was true or false was not a considerable matter. Good comparison though.
