old computer

hey lads
got a problem:

okay so i got this very old computer ( liek 6 years or so) and when i try to install some programms there and i plug in my usb stick, it doesnt recognise =(
so i actually cant open my files from the stick.
any suggestions/advice?
its windows 98 btw..

win xp just has the usb drivers already installed unlike win98

look @ your usb sticks manufacturer homepage and search for a win98 driver there.

she is right, you have to install the USB-drivers. had to do it once on my fathers old machine to use my USB-stick there

manually recognize usb doesnt do it by itself (98) =???!

windows 98 @ a 6 year old computer? it's 2008 and xp was released in october 2001!
