i think this is not caused by your gfxcard ;)

installed newest drivers from nvidia.com or whatever their site is or did you instal the older drivers from the CD?

opyions you have:
1) try other drivers
2) format c:\
3) reinstal ET (can help sometimes)
4) buy hacks so you don't need good fps to own
5) chipset drivers, but mostly they are not the problem with graphic cards
6) PSU can't handle the power it needs

minimize ET and take a look at your process information (ctrl alt del). Order by CPU%. Which process is taking most CPU?

Maybe new drivers can fix the problem

I got the same problems, only with Enemy Territory, and RTCW. CS : Source, COD4, and ET:QW working perfectly with high graphics options (Crysis also, but poor FPS, average of 25).

I think there's nothing to do with, i can play ET only if i close/launch the game few times.

Ok nevermind my previous comments, it's prolly PB screwing you up. I have the same, and it's exactly the same as snapeuh described. It can indeed help resetting the game a few times, and you can also try putting the game on multicore as soon as you're ingame (not spectator, but really when joined a team, otherwise it'll reset again).

I've experienced the same problem. I think it's caused by the dual core CPU. Most of the times it's fixed by manually applying both processors on ET.exe in taskmanager (ctrl alt delete, right mousebutton on ET.exe)

Try putting affinity(dunno how to spell it) to high in ET and pnkbstrA.exe

drivers/hardware problem or maybe the answer is so simply: lock fps? Im getting too many fps without locking it and game is just going crazy ;)
