Jetzt ist es offiziell: Europas größte Messe für Computer- und Videospiele Games Convention zieht von Leipzig nach Köln.

Earlier reports about the Leipzig Games Convention moving to Köln were spot on. According to this report (which is in German), the Games Convention will be moving to Köln as of 2009. Köln represents the fourth-largest city in Germany, right after Berlin, Hamburg and Munich.

As for the event itself, it seems the location won't be the only thing that's changing. In 2009 it will be getting a new name - Games Com. As it happens, representatives of the Leipzig show refused to give up the name "Games Convention."

The official web site for the Games Convention clearly states that this year's show will be held in Leipzig from Aug. 20 to Aug. 24.

So, come 2009, it's goodbye Leipzig Games Convention and hello Köln Games Com. I'm really having trouble pronouncing that.
