1st ET NationsCup - who remember it ?

Finland with Recdross was the best , but 
Austria was also really good , they took silver :-]

I was around playing back then but not competitively (only LAN) so wasn't watching the games :}}}
+not related, WTV>ETTV cause everyone were following same action, tho it is bad for fanbois who want to spec certain players, but overall for a community-feeling it's mutch better, flaming same actions, seeing same failings or epic moments, delicious :0
Was called aNI (short for animals) :D
Other friends were called animal names after our clan though, like donkey and monkey :D

The tactics were (compared to nowadays) really simple and our team consist of the old rtcw nationalteam with some "new school" players of ET.
So darky, rapture, n3co, t0m, rotax, n2y, kaoc, potter. The first impressive game of us was against the big brother germany, we played 2:2 (at this time there was no decider map during the groupstage) against them. The upcoming groupstage matches against italy and the third opponent in our group (I forgot the third country name sry :P) were an easy win for us.
At the playoffs we played against UK,on oasis we had some problems but finally the engineers team, n3co and kaoc destroyed the two guns during the rest of the team killed the opponent spawn. It was the first victory for austria against UK in Rtcw / ET and it showed us that we could win against everyone!
Then the semi final against the mighty svenska players, they had an excellent crossfire and great teamplay. I don't know why but we won goldrush against them, but on oasis it seemed that we will lose! The clock was against us but then n2y did the legendary oasis wall jump and austria took the ticket to the final!
Then at the final we had some good chances to win against suomi but we lost a lil bit unlucky. So austria got the first and probably last medal in ET :)
