ET competition is far from dead, teams like highbot and kirwa just shouldn't get the chance to play EC due to them not being active and being formed solely for EC, this is what destroys EC. (no offense)
It's not about kirwa not being good enough, they just dont deserve it. Sure they're good enough, but there are so many other teams willing to play EC and being much more motivated. The inactive players / teams should not get involved in competitions like EC and the ESL Major Series.
It's not kirwa's fault they get invited by CB admins to play a qualifier, but rather the CB admins' fault they overlook other teams that are willing to play EC but have zero to none achievements.
I couldn't agree more with the CB admins on that though. And it's not like they aren't motivated, else they wouldn't have signed up at all.
The teams that I have in mind are not as strong as kirwa, but they've shown activity and they perform well. I'd rather see motivated but less skilled teams then some champions that just dont give a fuck. If you're a great teacher but you just dont give a fuck about teaching you're out soon enough, should be the same way with ET.
Ofcourse I want the best teams to play eachother, but if teams just start forfeiting matches the players in those teams should be excluded from the next EC.
in this case it will always be the same players playing in ec year after year, just the teams they play with will change. new players will never get a chance and as soon as these "oldschoolers" lose their motivation (hi 2 this ec) ec is dead. awesome! your opinion seems kinda biased tbh.
I think you're taking the wrong angle in what you're saying. Competition is about who is best; EC is all competition. Ideally, yes, the top teams would show more involvement in the scene, practice and show motivation, but should they not need to do so in order to provide sufficient competence then they may feel free to do as they wish. If that involves not practicing then hey, their choice.

you are right and we already do that. we add notes to teams that do things that mess up our cups(like 2 noshows and removed from cup ....) we actualy look at this stuff for future reference.

in some cases rules are just to strict / fucked up... sux if we're gonna be punished for something like this since we intended to play this oc without any forfeits etc...

What I don't really understand is... Where are all those good players when we try to find a pracc. Nowhere to be seen. Yet people claim they're oh so active and deserve to play EC more than the so called "oldkoolers". Also, if EC aint champions league, why the fuck do you care what happens in EC? This whole ETTV shit has been a pain in the ass from the beginning, everyone who's played ettv knows what I mean. Most people who whine about matches being postponed or cancelled are ETTV spectators who dont play at ETTV-player's level. We all know by now ET isnt competitive anymore at the top, and ettv viewers suffer. Fact remains, if you can't even beat those inactive mixes with your "active-bit less skilled team", you don't deserve to play EC, you deserve to play Opencup div1. And good news, OC div1-3 matches are also being broadcasted!
Agree, and an add to that: Most ETTV spectators always whine about how low skilled the teams are which are playing. Still even if it was a 3on3 wolrd cup match or something like that they'd whine.

ETTV has made more good than bad things for ET. think last 6-12months... ppl dont have that much skillboost in ETTV ( hi myth6s, keNta etc). + ppl has learned more about ET when they have spec'd their idols in ETTV.
Well it seems that the FORMER highskilled players are destroying this EC. They team up to compete in it, they bash their opponents in qualifiers, they play couple of games and then refuse to play more.
So why in hell did you even sign up for this? You should've let teams with more ambition to play. Sad shit.

Kirwa is a good team, i rather watch inactive good teams than shit team who play 555 praccs a day.

You only deserve to play in EC if you can actually beat someone in it. This is competition, best team wins, not the nicest or the most "deserving" one.
Well yeah, the inactivity is really an issue that will probably be the end of ET, since new talents are not as skilled as the allstars, and 50% are cheaters... It's like ET is back at its start but with the only difference that it's an old unattractive game and full of cheaters. A dead game.
main problem is if a competition is played over such a long period, motivation goes. if a competition is more jammed up then people think about it more and it becomes more competitive (teams will be more practiced, even if they dont 'prac')
Normally it would be good, so teams can practise and prepare before each match. But atm it's impossible to get the matches scheduled faster or more matches in short time, cause most teams can't even get together for 1 match a week.
I really have to say I'm disappointed in lots of players. They treat ET like some cheap callgirl, they just try to use it when they need some attention and then drop it in a second again.
I already predicted this before EC started. It looked promising with all the comebacks and good teams (at least on paper). But I knew right away that most wouldn't be active. Especially with the summer coming up, interest will drop even more and EC is kinda dead before the playoffs even really started.

well its quite clear, ppl still enjoy playing the game and playing with ppl they enjoy so wanna have some commitment to the game still but cant commit to praccing and have other priorities which is fine. I cant think of any teams that arent in EC that deserve to be in EC [unkind, 141 maybe]
Take the teams of this EC, alot of ppl went back to national teams, vae, mpg started but changed players, and many more, shows ppl are playing cos they enjoy the ppl they play with, kkk is possibly the funnest team ive been in so i understand their situation, coolest bunch of guys u'll ever get to play with, add mystic in there and it is definetely the funniest clan in ET :)
the best teams need to play in EC and u cant pick anyone else besides the best. Before this EC teams were kinda active cost of cpc4 at least :)

Dont get why people whine about ClanBase system forcing matches...If someone wants to reschedule match and is not lazy he can do it without any bigger problems. CB didn't fuckup this EC, "oldschoolers" fucked it up, with their attitude, play official and go off. Don't really remember kirwa praccing, except maybe 2 days after their lineup was announced,but that would be it.
There have been teams that were willing to pracc, but some others were just lol. If KKK didn't have any fun playing ANY praccs, than they shouldnt have any fun in playing EC officials either. So everyteam that knew they wont pracc shouldnt have signed up, because, if you cant have any fun while praccing,dont play it seriously at all.
I totally agree with what griim said. In my opinion, OC prem has been more entertaining with more dedicated players. So bollox to ec, who gives a fuck anyway, the people who still care are still playing, which is what matters at the end of the day.

If you just want the most stable and skilled teams to play eachother (not the best) then it should be oc division 1 as the highest bracket of play.
