in spite all the unnecessary crap that has been added lately (recent comments wtf is up with that, and last visitors yeah attention whoring rocks) a useful thing should be fixed also.
search for 3 letters or less, and fix the scoring on search results. and a better system of going through uploaded movies. sorting by overall score, or even by individual scores.
for instance i am looking for Euro.Cup-X-rtcw movie. the only way i can think of finding it, is by going through hundreds of pages of lousy 2 minutes clips people call "movies".
one way of improving the search would be to generate a list of all the movies posted with links attached, so you could navigate through it using browsers search function. you could make it into an array with various other info, like scores, hits, comments...
add more categories so q3 can finally be chosen.

EDIT: I'm not saying your ideas are bad or it wouldn't be useful
Maybe "cup" doesn't give you any results because of the system which "search" uses to find results...
category: frag highlights/trailer/tricking/misc
game: et/css/q3/etc...
even the advertisements have improved !
The searchsystem for less then 3 letters started working btw imo :o)
i also don't remember ever seeing it being here.
