best 24 inch monitors

I'm a big fan of CRT gaming, but as deskspace is an issue atm I'm looking into a tft replacement :(

Anyway, it needs to be 24inch and have Full HD (or higher) resolution and ofcourse great colors and low ms.

Basically, which 24inch full HD is currently best to use for gaming?

buy the new LCD for gaming !@#
Iiyama ProLite B2403WS
samsung 2493hm
benq g2400w

and if colors are more important than latency then hp lp2475w
buy a small tv :D
HP Pavilion w2408h.

Got the same monitor in the smaller version (22") and it's working for me without any problems.
It seems that the 24" version got the same planel and the other specifications are also the same. Best feature is probably the hardware interpolation, so you can play games even at normal resolutions without losing too much of the quality.
i think u wont find any great tfts of that size which featur higher refreshrates than 60 on the full resolution...

i have a 22'' benq and i turned resolution down to 1440x900 to gather at least 75 hz.
all new 22" panels hold 75Hz

not on highest resolution
Parent
on highest (1680x1050) resolutions.
Parent
ye, most of the screens cant use 75hz with that
Parent
all latest panels should hold 75Hz no matter what, as said by panels' specification sheets.
Parent
DVI STANDART CANT HANDLE IT, maybe displayport monitors will be better
Parent
Have you seen a monitor without VGA port?

wait a couple more months and get the 120hz monitors due to be released imo
it would not be worth buying one of them for a very long time (price/value ratio will be insanely not worth it, unless you have ridiculous amounts of money to waste)
Parent
nobody really knows what the price will be until they are released so that's kinda speculative
Parent
its not impossible to make predictions

there wont be any for the same price as current top lcd's... at least double the price
Parent
yea probably but I'm pretty sure I'll be getting one
Parent
fair enough, look forward to the review

QuoteInstead of showing 120 images per second in the usual way, the screen will be able to alternate 120 time a second, showing 60 images for the left eye, and 60 images for the right eye, with a pair of specially designed glasses separating the two.

WHAHAHAHAH what a load of fucking marketing crap! oldass 3d-cinema ftw!

QuoteAlternatively, the press release also suggests that the 120 Hz could be used continuously, showing 120 frames per second. This will ‘eliminate afterglow and all trace effects in movies,’ according to the press release; We’ve already tested televisions which ran at 100 or even 120 Hz, a task at a which some them performed very well. On the very best, the amount of afterglow is effectively halved by comparison with a 60 Hz monitor with a similar response rate. We should find that these 120 Hz monitors are as good for playing games as the best CRT screens.

I know, I read that too, but that alternating images with a special pair of glasses just made me rofl.

Besides that, press releases tend to suggest things which in turn show up different in the final product, so we'll have to wait and see if this thing really supports 120hz decently.

how does that work for gaming ? or 22 inc screens, with fullscreen ofc. good bad wut ?
I'm using 22" HP Pavilion w2207h, the 24" version is 24" HP Pavilion w2408h.

The best monitor "for everything" is probably 24" BenQ FP241VW, however it's really expensive :<

24" iiyama ProLite B2403WS-B1 and 24" LG Flatron W2452V-PF seems to be very good ass well :)

If you are going to be a Photographer, buy a Eizo, though they suck at Games cause of there refresh rate.
that benq is buttugly

Parent
