Got myself a Iiyama ProLite E2403WS today so that effectively means "bb CRT" :(
Just booted up ET @ 75hz on lcd .. and I have to cry :(
Oh well, this screen is at least a lot better for other activities such as developing and most desktop apps, but as soon as I have more space the CRT (iiyama vision master pro 454) is back for gaming and going side by side with this one dual monitor style.
Anyway, I feel a bit ripped off. The screen is supposed to be 2ms gray to gray, but they forget to mention that that only works with OD (overdrive) on maximum (5) and if you are not using 1:1 scaling or 4:3 aspect or having it on 75hz. So this 2ms story only works with low resolutions in fullscreen with overdrive on 5 and 60hz refreshrate. :(
Oh well, fuck the overdrive setting, cuz I rather stick with 75hz than 60hz.

In terms of the technology I can see how there would be a significant difference however I cannot see there being a huge difference.
LCD comes down to 75hz, ghosting and delay. No way can you even begin to compare it with the smooth quality of 100/120hz gaming on a CRT.
If I was to buy a high spec Crt do you think I would gain any benefit from it considering I am used to using a TFT.
PS: Can be very personal tho
these days i use Ultramon to auto-switch to my CRT when I play games, and turn my LCD off, and then back to LCD when my CRT is off
Saves a lot of power (lcd is much more efficient) and means my CRT will last longer (it's getting harder and harder to find good quality CRTs)
anyway CARE
my old TFT wich died Viewsonic VX924 19" @ 85Hz were FUCKING GOOD, i miss it.
using old CRT now LG 701B 17" @ 85Hz.
mine VX924 died, i really loved to game on that screen, and it was a tft. But it could handle 85Hz.
Still have warranty on it, but viewsonic support is worst ever, only indias that cant talk english
i hated my new 22wide i bought to game on D:
gaved it to father =p
BUT in the site they write it can have 118Hz in 1024x768
when i got i home it only works with 100hz so i send it back
and they said i need to pay 10% of the price of the product and some other stuff, so i ended with 40euro payment for nothing :>
Ah well, as soon as I have more room I'll put both monitors on the desk, using the CRT for gaming and the TFT for desktop stuff.
Played on a Laptop some months ago and couldn't hit shit >.<
you are pathetic!
