get rid of a mole

SInce i live in a house with a big garden, we always have problems with moles...but that all changed today.
my grandfather paid us a visit and decided to hunt the mole. so he sat down next to the molehills and waited there for hours:

all of a sudden, he grabbed his gun, stood up and shot like 2 times in the grass.
