Google is about to feel the wrath of 4chan through YouTube tomorrow all because it decided to suspend the account of a kid who using the name lukeywes1234.

It’s unclear why lukey’s account was so popular, but it seems as though he only posted innocent videos of himself talking about the things he liked including Mario and the fact he was not afraid of ghosts. But Google decided to ban the account and 4chan users took offense and decided to do something about it. The reason for the ban seems to be due to the use of Super Mario Bros. in one of his videos, but that’s not official.



Tomorrow YouTube could be flooded with porn. Usually the content filters employed on the site would delete the videos quickly, but specific instructions have been posted on how exactly to go about getting porn videos viewable. It is all explained in the poster released by 4chan which you can read by clicking the image below:



It looks as though 4chan is attempting to both fool the filters and push so much content on to the site at the same time YouTube can’t cope meaning a lot of porn may get through.

If you are interested in the type of videos Lukey was uploading someone has created an alternative account and uploaded them again. It may also get suspended soon if it contains the same offending material YouTube picked up on.



Matthew’s Opinion

4chan is not a group to get on the bad side of. Their ability as a collective to disrupt things on the Internet
is unmatched. Examples includes making a 4chan user named moot first in the Times Online poll of Most Influential People. They were also the ones to send pizza to Balloon Boy’s house and get it caught on a TV news report. Now it’s YouTube’s turn and you can bet the service is bracing for impact.

If the reason a cute kid’s account has been suspended is just about the use of a name when he was demonstrating his love of the Nintendo characters then YouTube has responded too severely. It’s clearly a case of unmanned filters and checks deciding on a ban rather than a human reviewing the video in context.

Will a YouTube Porn Day have any real effect on the service? In terms of bad press it will and it may even get Lukey’s account back online. But these things are always going to happen as checking everything is too expensive and time consuming to ever be considered.
