EC show must go on

Twentieth day of September, twentieth EuroCup season. Today, Clanbase will announce invitations for their most prestigeous tournament. From over 200 signups, we have selected 4 teams which will receive direct invitation and 16 clans who will be fighting for remaining 12 spots.

This season's Qualifiers formula is different from previous one. 4 clans will be directly invited to EuroCup, 16 clans invited to EC Qualifiers. Directly invited teams will create poule 1. Qualifier teams will make 8 pairs. 8 winners will create 4 pairs. Winners from "winners" - clans who won 1st game will create poule 2. Losers from "winners" will create poule 3. Then we got 8 "losers" - clans who lost 1st match. They will create 4 pairs. Winners from "losers" will create poule 4, while losers from "losers" will be automatically put into one of the OpenCup Premier League groups. Each EuroCup group will consist of 1 clan from each poule.

First match needs to be played between 20 and 27 September. Second match needs to be played by 1st October.

Mappool will consist of 6 maps:
  • sw_goldrush_te
  • radar
  • supply
  • bremen_b2
  • sp_delivery_te
  • adlernest

The whole announcement will take place on CB Radio with DJ's Netherlands Ins0mnia and Belgium Nex. The show will start at 20.00 CET. Enemy Territory part will be turned on at about 21.40 CET. Poland Homer's special guest will be Switzerland gifty. CB Radio kicks off with DJ Netherlands Neur0's EuroCup Pre-Show at 18:00 CET.

Why? If you deserve an invite, then you'll get through the qualis! Not aimed specifically at you, just a general comment about teams. I think celsus is one of the 5 or so teams that should probably get one, but ofc someone will miss out

first I thought that it's EC for only 8 teams, but after re-reading I realised how the system works. Looks kinda fair to me, and the qualis should have always been something like this. Many good teams got knocked out because of EC winner as quali opponent in earlier years

Also the mappool looks pretty nice

it has happened to me once in 2007 ;)

This system seems to be better than the last ones.
This system makes best teams to qualify into EC. In last ones there was a problem when 2 best qualifier teams faced each others. Now the another good team can get their spot from Loser brackets.

Great work. Keep up the good work. This should have been used years ago tho.

ca va bien :) , et oui je viens plus sur irc car je peux plus jouer actif (vu que je suis en recherche d'emploi je risque de bouger de chez moi et de perdre ma connection internet), sinon je joue en team fun avec les twa en fait, on est quasi public only (je pwn le n00b arena avec eux en fait:D) et on fait genre 2 ou 3 3v3 par semaine.
