It's been over 8 months since ET has seen any sort of notable LAN action. The last event of course being SAGE where Anexis took the win. Since then, it looks like the community has settled back into the 6on6 format for online tournaments. In order to not rock the boat, we've decided to make our return to ET and this time with a 6on6 offline tournament. Whilst the ET community may be familiar with the name "ET Masters", I'd like to clarify that it is in no way connected to the previous tournaments.

Read on for all the available information at this time.

Dates: 2nd & 3rd June 2012 (09:00 each day)
Entry: €350 per team of 6
Slots: 16
Prize pool: €3,000

General tournament information[/b]]
We will be hosting a 6 vs. 6 Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory tournament which will a maximum of 16 slots available. Based on the tournament being full, the structure will be 4 groups of 4 teams followed by a full 16-team playoff bracket on day 2. The event will take place on Saturday the 2nd of June and Sunday the 3rd of June this year. Again, on the basis of the tournament being filled with all 16 slots, the minimum prize pool will be €3,000 which will be split between the top 3 finishers of the tournament.

In order for the tournament to go ahead, we will require a minimum of 10 teams to be signed up and fully paid. Information on deadline will be published once the signups have opened. On the basis of a 10-team tournament, the group stage will be 2 groups of 5 teams followed by a 10-team playoff bracket. The minimum prize pot on this basis will be €1,500 split between the top 2 finishers of the tournament.

Venue details[/b]]
The game hall is located in an industrial estate located in the Dutch town of Weesp which is just outside of Amsterdam. We will have 30 computers available for use, 24 of which will be used as tournament computers with 6 being on reserve in case of faults.

There are vending machines on-site for drinks and snacks as well as a kitchen area for hot food. You can buy food tickets which can be used to buy burgers and toasties. Unlike other venues, the smoking area is INSIDE the venue!
Travel[/b]]
The location is very accessible via all taxis, busses and trains. Schiphol airport is around 30 minutes away by car. Full travel guide will be published shortly.
Accommodation[/b]]
We will be partnering with one of the local hotels in Weesp in order to provide all attendees with a discount of 5%. The hotel is a 10 minute walk away from the venue itself or a 2 minute car journey. We would highly recommend booking the hotel through us in order to achieve your booking discount. More information will be published shortly about this.

Props to Seanza for organising this. We basically spoke for 1 hour last night and within that hour of discussions he decided to book and finalise the lan. I love the way he works!

In all seriousness I would like to help any teams and or players out for this. I know i have messaged a few before this newspost went live, but i really want to maximise the signups for this and i think its time that the COMMUNITY steps up and doesnt just watch the "highskilled" teams turn up and play. Contrary to what many say and believe, these tournaments are great fun to attend and socially they are one great weekend. Look forward to seeing you all there!

well ask Seanza about it. 6on6 makes this whole thing alot more complicated compared to 5on5. Fortunate for us it seems he has no big issues with running a 6on6 event in that location. But the point behind 5on5 stays the same, just as Merlinator pointed out, nearly noone would go for more than 1, maybe 2, events a year.

Just to let u know, there are 30 pcs which would allow 3 5on5 games at one time. With 6on6 only 2 games can be played at one time meaning it took some time for me to convince him to host a 6on6 lan. Logistically running a 2 day lan with hopefully 16 teams with a LB in 6on6 format is tight especially as there will be 6 pcs sitting there idle. So in regards to ur sarcastic comment regarding me and 5on5 lans, go fuck urself

Sounds like a possibility of a 3on3 tournament! I'm sure some teams would be found and even pay for playing. Saves you some additional cash on renting, accomodation etc. :-P

However there might be problems with players also playing in the 6on6 tournament. Just thinking about capacity utilisation here :-D

I'm not going to get involved in a discussion between Ross & you, but I will say that he was the one who convinced me to do 6on6. People have been coming to me for 3 or 4 months asking me to run an event and I've declined due to the game not being 5on5. After speaking with Ross, I decided to go ahead with 6on6 since the last thing this community needs is to be split again.

Just because he's been over-confident about the prospects of 5on5, don't give him shit for it. Going by regular team-based FPS titles, he was right about saying 5on5 is better. But, let's not turn this into a debate. The community's too small to be broken up like this :)
