IPL4 & GSTL Finals at Las Vegas

After StarCraft 2's succesfull start of 2012 with tournaments like HomeStoryCup IV, MLG and ofcourse the GSL, it's time for the IGN Pro League to step up to the new production standard for this year.
Seeing that IPL3 at Atlantic City was a massive succes there won't be a lot of doubts that this year can be even better. For starters the current location is in no less than Las Vegas at the Cosmopolitan.
140 players will duke it out for the grand prize of $40,000. Players like United States of America image: Zicon_smallIdrA, Korea, Republic of image: Ticon_smallMarineking, Korea, Republic of image: Picon_smallMC and France image: Zicon_smallStephano have been invited and you will definitely see them giving their best.

The system is comparable to MLG's with an open bracket where 128 players will fight for the 8 spots left in group play. Each group has 2 spots left which will be filled with the people who come out victorious of their open bracket. The groups have already been filled with invites and players who won their qualifiers.
All matches up to the semi finals will be BestOf3, the Semifinals will be BestOf5 and the Grand Finals will be no less than BestOf7.

We will see from April the 6th till April the 8th whether France image: Zicon_smallStephano can defend his title in this epic, epic spectacle!

MLG Providence!

image: MLG-providence_1320482217

It's MLG Time! This time Major League Gaming is taking place in Providence.
Another weekend full of the sickest starcraft players all at one tournament.
With 21 Koreans and almost all of the foreign pride competing for the $50,000 grand prize it promises to be an exciting weekend.

While 181,000 stream views were counted in Raleigh, this time MLG is aiming for at least 200,000 viewers as the viewercount has been skyrocketing with every single tournament.
All those people will see stars like Korea, Republic of image: Ticon_smallMvp, Korea, Republic of image: Zicon_smallNestea, Canada image: Picon_smallHuK and United States of America image: Zicon_smallIdrA.
The big question will be whether Korea, Republic of image: Ticon_smallMvp will be able to take his tenth title this season, in which case he'll need to win 26 games straight in a row or if Canada image: Picon_smalldreamHuK will surprise everyone again and break the korean domination.

We will all see on November the 18th 17:00 EST (23:00 CET) what Providence will bring, I personally can't wait!
With MLG Providence being the National Championships and not including group stages but winner brackets, I'll provide you guys with links.

SC2 BlizzCon & ESCW - The Afterparty

For the Starcraft II scene it was another action packed weekend as we saw this year's BlizzCon and Electronic Sports World Cup competitive eSports tournaments. The main question for most non-Korean SC2 fans was whether their foreign hero's like image: Picon_small Canada HuK, image: Zicon_small United States of America IdrA and image: Zicon_small France Stephano could continue impressing and beating Korean players.
With €50.000 for BlizzCon and €26.000 for ESWC there was enough cash on the line once again, as we continue to see our beloved gaming business grow.

SC2: MLG Pro Circuit Columbus

It's time again for North America's biggest offline tournament! From June 03 till June 05 the players will be battling for MLG's $14.000 Dollar pricepool at the Greater Columbus Convention Center located in Columbus, Ohio. Last MLG had some very exciting three days of Starcraft 2 and Major League Gaming's CEO United States of America Sundance promised an even better tournament for this weekend. There will be an improved stream, new player booths and an epic line up of United States of America Americans, Europe Europeans and even some top notch Korea, Republic of Koreans.

Will image: protoss-big Sweden Naniwa be able to repeat his outstanding performance of a streak of 25 wins and only 2 losses and come off as the winner of MLG's second tournament this year? Or will Koreans like image: protoss-big Korea, Republic of MC prove to be too strong or the Swedish power house? We will see soon!
