CB kicks out new config

image: clanbase_white ClanBase is proud to announce the release of a new set of configs today.

Due to the recent discovery of several significant exploits against Enemy Territory servers, ClanBase has released a new config pack. It includes a LUA module provided by the ETPro team which will fix and secure your game server.

This new config also contains the map script hashes and some minor cvar tweaks and fixes.
We also want to add we are open to any suggestions you could do to improve it.

Rotterdam, Rotterdam

image: rotttterrrdaaammmmWith all the hype happening in Dallas, you'd be forgiven for forgetting that Crossfire's very own LAN is still warming it's muscles for September. Let us hop back over the Atlanic to take a look at the goings-on in preperation for the Crossfire Eurolan.

Tonight saw the final match in Round 1 played between Russia tank thirty four and Poland dtekt - WoW. All hats should be taken off for t34 who struggled bravely against the Polish lineup but sadly; their fate was sealed. WoW secured a 4-0 and with it, a place in Round 2.

Round 2: Make or Break!
The second round of the online qualifiers will finally determine which of the 16 clans will be offered an invite to the event. If the first round is a way of seperating the useful from the useless, the second round is guaranteed to be a clash of all things wonderful. Find out who's up for a possible eviction inside.

Crossfire qualifiers heat up

image: xfire_logoWith the very chance to meet various members of the ET world in Rotterdam being just under a month away, the Crossfire Eurolan online qualifier round fires up. A total of 16 teams were thrown into a hat, mixed about for a bit and then placed nicely in a qualifier elimination table.

Only four teams from this elimination round will proceed, joining four already invited teams at the Eurolan early next month. Although Europe HighBot dropping out doesn't dramatically increase anyone's chances; it opens the gates slightly with one less clan for competitors to worry about.

Last night, Europe Spreading Death bumped knuckles with Poland Delta in the first qualifier showdown. Despite their name, the only death SPRD spread was their own. Delta took a somewhat deserved 4-0 victory pushing them to face either Russia tank thirty four or Poland dtekt WoW next week.

Meanwhile, the soup continues to cook here at Crossfire towers. Tonight will see two more teams unworthy for seats at the LAN ejected from the competition; a terrible fate compared only to that of a nudist weekend with your grandmother and her older sister Audrey. (For the record my auntie's name is Pat.)

Give me a rize!

image: game694No, not that kind of rise. Not that kind of rise either. I speak of the EC wonder clan formerly known as Germany Beta who will tonight battle wits with Europe Northern Darkness.

This season's EuroCup has had more ups and downs than TosspoT's boxers at Mardi Gras. A handful of teams; including those that previously held Crossfire's King of the Hill, quit ET after deciding their future in competitive ET was no longer worth living. But is that the case? This time last year would anyone have predicted Estonia idle.ee meeting either of tonight's teams in a EuroCup final?

To claim their place in this final, riZe (5 wins 1 loss) will have to play incredibly smart to overcome one of ET's most feared clans. ND, being completely unbeaten this EuroCup season, will have to win tonight or face Europe deMiurge for the Bronze title.

CB ET Spring Maplist

image: tblairClanBase ET 6v6 OpenCup Spring 2006

The polls are in! It was pretty clear when we published the first OC maplist that people weren't all too happy with the decision. The second one wasn't really too popular either; even poor Tony felt guilty.

So, here we are with a count of all votes and a final maplist for this season's 6v6 OpenCup. Note that maps with a full vote are given one point where as maps listed as "maybes" are given 0.5 of a point.

The Result - Score / Popularity
- Adlernest B7c - 145.2 / 0.78
- Battery - 80.2 / 0.43
- Braundorf B4 - 169.0 / 0.91
- Frostbite - 120.1 / 0.65
- Radar - 168.9 / 0.91
- Supplydepot2 - 112.5 / 0.60
- SW Goldrush TE - 169.5 / 0.91

Sadly, SW Oasis B3 just missed it's chance to appear in another season with a voting score of 66.4 and popularity score of 0.36. Many thanks to Adacore for the freakishly professional poll statistics.

The ET 3v3 maplist will be decided shortly while the EuroCup maplist is likely to look similar to the above with a few minor changes.

Enjoy the season, chums!

A Quiet Night In

[img|left]http://www.gamestv.org/images/links/small_yell.gif[/img]GAMESTV.ORG

Returning for another night, GAMESTV.ORG is lining up a show that even your granny would use an excuse to download ET.

Europe ClanBase ET Crew vs Europe Warleagues ET Crew
20:30 CET :: GTV // id 324 :: Shoutcasted by Germany FlyingDJ

An age old feud that began the day Warleagues thought they could outrun ClanBase. (Sorry.) Clashing for the very first time to put a round score in between the passive bitching and fighting, CB will face WL in a "winner-takes-it-all" showdown. My money is on ClanBase, obviously.

Belgium Belgium vs Latvia Latvia
21:30 CET :: GTV // id 316 :: Shoutcasted by Netherlands lunachick

Following a double-reschedule, the 1/8th decider match between Belgium and Latvia will take place tonight. Belgium are the obvious choice to win this match and Latvia aren't far their own wooden spoon. But does this really make a difference? We've seen lesser teams beat bigger foes!

Be sure to jump onto ETTV and the available shoutcasts; especially when Im pwning Yancho.

GTV Gets Fat!

image: newsiteGAMESTV.ORG

Based on a wealth of feedback from users, spectators and admins, work on GAMESTV.ORG has been underway.

With the main intention of keeping users informed as well as stretching the site to fit larger resolutions, a fresh wider layout was created.

While the face remains the same, we've moved the features about slightly. While you'll need to login to change your timezone, broadcast IPs can now be viewed publically adding to ease of use.

GTV now boasts a new system that lists wars that have been rescheduled or cancelled without the need to find the war yourself.

Be sure to check it out!

TV Sunday

image: small_3dContinuing with ETTV by the bucketload, GTV returns again with another well-oiled schedule.

While no slots or teams have been confirmed yet, two dtk Cup wars take place at 16:15 CET and 18:30 CET. swine's very own GET-Cup plays host to another elimination round at 19:00 CET followed shortly by the final rounds.

The climax of the evening, kicking off at 21:00 CET is the ET NationsCup 1/8 Final between Sweden Sweden and Poland Poland. Allthough Sweden have taken a higher win/loss ratio, Poland's losses have been to teams tipped to take gold this season. Can Sweden kick their socks off and go full-pelt against this acclaimed Polish lineup or will Mrozu's boys fight back?

Be sure to tune on one of the growing number of ETTV slots as well as our very own Netherlands lunachick's shoutcasting debut on FlyingDJ's Server.

Happy viewing, chums!

NationsCup Lockdown

image: small_lunaThis season's NationsCup has finally been a true show of Nation skill. While some unlikely teams have made it through to the playoffs, it's the good old fashioned faces that we see as the group toppers. Estonia Estonia, Finland Finland, Germany Germany and Netherlands Holland have returned to show the classic high-skill teams that ET has always seen.

While they'll have the chance to pick off the winners of the current round, a selection of this round's matches will appear on ETTV tonight.

Spain Spain 4 0 Hungary Hungary
20:00 CET - GAMESTV.ORG / id 315 - Shoutcasted by FlyingDJ
Spain have never been short of obvious talent but have yet to make it all the way to the top in a NationsCup. This season, however Spain have taken five wins and a single loss in group D of the NationsCup. Other than Germany, the leader of the group, Spain are unbeaten. On the other hand, Hungary also boast buckets oozing full of skill that made the silver in the previous NC season. It's a shame their success in the groups phase doesn't match their previous success.

ClanBase has placed odds of 5-5 for this match.

United Kingdom United Kingdom 4 2 Portugal Portugal
21:00 CET - GAMESTV.ORG / id 317
Being a Brit I'd love to be able to sing UK's praises but it has to be mentioned that their entry into the playoffs this season has been based solely on dropouts in group C. However while their lineup has changed, they pushed their way to a bronze last season; the highest success for a British team in a NationsCup. Portugal have popped out of nowhere and spread like a vicious batch of headlice. Their success this season, while being rather spontaneous, has been admirable. A loss to the group leaders stands against them but they're holding an incredibly strong lineup.

ClanBase has placed odds of 4-6 for this match.

An #ET-Cup match between Europe remedium 4 0 Europe one4one will also be shown at 21:15 CET. GAMESTV.ORG / id 329

ClanBase ETPro Change

image: logo_etproSource: ClanBase

Moving to the future and incorporating the various bug changes, fixes and glorious additions of ETPro is a move normally taken at the start of each ClanBase season. However, as from today all ClanBase Enemy Territory matches must be played on ETPro 3.2.5. While remaining NC groups phase matches can be played on 3.2.4, all playoff matches must use 3.2.5.

The current season config is still to be used.

Those classy folks over at vpclan.de have hosted ETPro 3.2.5 which you can get here.
