BRINK DLC now in July

image: brink_logo

As you might remember last newspost with details about SplashDamage latest hit's DLC which promised to brink 2 new maps, few skins and weapon upgrades, now more information about it has surfaced.

This DLC many fans expect will bring a new breath of air into lungs of BRINK, which with Steam player numbers being in decline every day (500 brinkers worldwide online at time of this post) is in desperate need for.

First of all it initially was due to release in June, however as we can see it's almost end of month and this promising DLC is still not on our PC's. Why? Because they have to submit it for approval with console makers Microsoft and Sony. It of course doesn't mean in any way that BRINK is primary a console game.

So the new release date is set to "early July".

As for second piece of information:
QuoteThe game's first DLC, Agents of Change, will be FREE for two weeks on Xbox LIVE, PSN, and Steam!

There you go, be ready to grab this fantastic DLC for FREE in 2 weeks following it's release. This is the SplashDamage we know, caring about it's fans and supporters after successful delivery of BRINK to the world.

No pricing about info has been released if you miss this fantastic 2 week opportunity.

And finally, still no info on SDK and/or promod.

BRINK - Revolution begins

image: bk6t15x1oq3ap31ucAs you might know, these days all hardcore gamers are focused on E3 Expo thats going on right know.

And you can't find more hardcore gamers than here on Crossfire, Halo, Gears of War, Wolfenstein, Quakewars, you name it, we are interested in that.

But there is one game studio that we have our weakness for, Splash Damage with their unreleased superhit and our competitive future that we are waiting so patiently for - BRINK

Good folks at gametrailers.com have acquired video from this event that we might find interesting, a developer walkthrough.
Quote by GTVHead behind enemy lines in this 8 minute look at the exciting new shooter from Splash Damage and Bethesda.

8 minutes of this glorious BRINK footage tells us many things that we might not known before about characters wardrobe customisation, gun arsenal, movement style, and general gameplay.

Head over here to be a witness of this gaming revolution as some might call it.

Wolfenstein ressurected?

New information has surfaced regarding long awaited patch for Wolfenstein. Our beloved community manager United States of America Sokal whom kept in silence for months like a mute partisan have made a post on official Wolfenstein forum informing us about changes and fixes that the patch will introduce.

While Wolfenstein did not life up to it's promises and generally didn't get warm reception from players, this patch makes bold statement that developers still care about their fans and do not wish to see their game abandoned.

Very important changes and fixes are listed below:

- Players will now receive their proper gold and stats at the end of the match instead of occasionally losing their gold and upgrades
- New legal text
- Global chat is now UNavailable in spectator mode
- Objective explosions don't count towards team kills (they will however still kill a player)
- The dedicated servers will now sort correctly by ping
- A waiting bar has been added when waiting for the servers to appear
- When the player goes into the game, the auto-assign selection is highlighted gold instead of black
- Competition mode (all unlocks available, option to turn off the arrows above enemy players)
- MP43 and MP40 are adjusted in terms of damage, range and accuracy.
- Pressing T will bring up the chat box without also entering the letter T as the first letter
- Panzershrek has more splash damage
- Veil Sight drains veil energy more quickly
- Ironsights is more effective
- Amount of ammo picked up off of dead players is reduced.

No release date has yet been given, but according to post more information will follow soon

This patch is a second step on a ladder of success that will help to make Wolfenstein great competitive game. Now we have to wait on what WolfPro team will be able to offer us, with a help of long ago promised SDK.

With United States of America Quakecon 2008 approaching, all-eyes are on the Enemy Territory: Quake Wars tournaments but that could all change as now there are rumours about RTCW2 being unveiled.

Some one on the yoyogames.com forum managed to get his hands on "Game Informer" magazine(August issue) which features a "World Exclusive" first look at the new Wolfenstein game, and being a good fellow he scanned them for us all to stare at B. J. Blazkowicz in full iD Tech 4 engine glory.
