CoD Eurocup - Lan finals beckon

The Call of Duty Eurocup has so far has captivated everyones imagination and as we get down to the business end of the season, its time for us to say "See you @ LAN" or just...See you later.

Whilst details on the LAN finals themselves are currently in short supply, we do know theres $9000 up for grabs between 4 teams!

Qualified
Last night Europe Check Six booked their place in the finals with a stunning victory over reigining Eurocup champions Germany Speedlink. Check Six are really gunning for top spot at the moment, having last week taken on former EC champions United Kingdom Dignitas, now pulling off an impressive display against the Germans.
Prior to that Belgium TeK-9 had already booked their place in the playoffs. The team who were expected to crash out of the EuroCyo quite quickly once their exams had begun have now pulled off stunning victories over Netherlands DigitalMind and Netherlands Northern Darnkess in a run of form that has seen them earn a place at the Lan Finals against all the odds.

Last Chance Saloon
Germany Speedlink, the EC X winners under the Ocrana tag in CoD1 and reigning EC CoD2 champions got a rude awakening as Check Six raised their game and knocked them into the losers bracket. They now face an unpredictable DigitalMind side in the final online EuroCup match.

Germany Speedlink & Netherlands DigitalMind must fight it out knowing the loser goes away empty handed and the winner will have scraped their way into the EC lan finals!

Lugerfrag Episode 6 - Confronting Clanbase

image: lugerfrag

The show has been uploaded: http://itg.filecloud.com/files/file.php?user_file_id=203474

Today we will see Lugerfrag going onair for its sixth episode. This will be the first time without the omniscient German, Germany FlyingDJ.

So what have we got for you tonight? A lot :-)

News of the week
As always we are starting of with News of the week. What happened over the past 1.5 week that affected ET? Of course we saw that the plug was pulled from KOTH, and that the ESL is on its way. But there was more.

Quakecon&Enlarged
After this there will be some info with regards to Quakecon&Enlarged. What's going on over there, and what will happen with the 2 biggest upcoming LAN's for ET. Or, well, will Qcon even have ET!?

Confronting Clanbase
Following the introduction, is the moment you've all been waiting for! The interview with Adacore. The interview is about 40 minutes long and should give some nice views on Clanbase. The only downside of the interview is that you really have to pay attention. The microphone of Adacore was not that splendid, and sometimes he is breaking up :-(

Let's talk ladders!
A small moment to talk about the current ladder system, and try to summarize what has been said. I've spoken to Poland Mrozu about it, and the result of that conversation will be on tonight aswell.

Maptest: renewed railgun; Showmatch!
To end tonight, instead of the normal maptest, there will be a showmatch. Finland sFx SKIT-EVIL came up with the idea. I invited Belgium AgonyRealm who, thankfully, accepted, and thus the game tonight will be between those two teams.

CoD2: test 1-2-3 test test!

ClanBase Clash - sFx Evil Challenge sth

It’s been four months since the start of my torrid love affair with a certain Croat. His team is an enviable allstar pickup, a selection of the greatest players around. They come together to dominate the ClanBase European Ladder – they are stronger than hate.

As my first post regarding this team distinguished the myth that the CB ladder lacks skill, I need not repeat the tiresome rhetoric. Since becoming ladder leaders in March 2005 stronger than hate have only lost once, to former Crossfire KOTH Champions Team Helix [then known as Rewind] – though they soon regained their title and took revenge on hx.

Their most recent challengers and today’s opponent are sFx Evil. Their last clash ended in a draw meaning sth regained their position at the top of the table. The fact sth wouldn’t play a decider infuriated the Fins, the match report read “Sorry for not playing a decider but we don't need it if we kept 1st place. Besides that, you lost your home map.”

There’s bad blood between these two teams – we can expect an intense encounter.
