Higurashi no Naku Koro ni comes pretty close, but there aren't any anime series that come near to what Elfen Lied is, when talking about its genre.

i prefer the story of the complete anime --> with all the characters and the personal story of the charas and the way how Lynn Okamoto combine them -- great outcome ! The start of the anime is well created like all other episodes so atleast i dont have a real favourite episode and i dont get why episode 8shoukd be so special , ofc 8 is perfect lbut like the rest ;( unique
