little trick to boost fps

I found a little trick to boost your fps with an ati video card.

1. Just start up ET and check your fps

2. minimize your game and open ati tray tool and use the following settings

3. maximize ET again (maybe your screen will be fucked now, but just pres your vid_restart button)

like u see fps drops a bit

4. Minimize ET again, close ati tray tool and maximize ET again (your screen can be fucked again , but just push your vid_restart button.

like u see i almost have got twice my fps.

i don't know it works for every1 but at least it works for me

4 MB ram should be possible, nowadays. I increase core & memory settings of my graphic card with ATI tool, while I am playing ET. And I set my ventilator next to my open computer, because I am too lazy to buy a new fan. So I can increase my performance about 40 %.

ati tray tools usually takes up 20 mb ram for me, and it tends to pop up with certain key combinations and i can't be bothered to disable that so i just disable tray tools!

from my point of view it looks like a fault/bug ... your ET doesn't show the correct FPS... does it feel like 200 fps? :D

i can't feel 200 fps cause i my displayrefresh = 75 but i've got the same thing in cod2 so i think shows the right fps

why did you start fraps @ 3rd screen? and it looks like you haven't limited your fps and why would you want that fps when you can have 125fps max in new cb configs?

1.its not fraps, its the ati tray tool fps counter
2.braundorf is a high fps map, but in maps like grush my fps often drops till 50
3.only want to help people who got troubles with fps

I dont think it's this trick that does it, but I think it's actually windows switching your cpu assignments for ET from two to one core. ET isn't designed for working with more than one cpu.

If you have a dualcore then that's most likely your problem and if so then minimize ET, go to Task Manager and find the process ET.EXE.. rightclick on that and choose "set affinity" and make sure only one cpu is selected. Maximize ET again and voila.
