With a difference of only seven votes saevus' truck beat Nights panzer.
I sat down and had a chat with
Feuersturm about last years events. He played in saevus when they were one of the finalists in Eurocup X.
A victory in the finals of the Eurocup thanks to skill and alot of luck.
Feuersturm: It is sort of ironic even, we were gonna forfeit in the semis. Wow-fever, css, that sort of thing was going on then.
But still the match was played and the magic happened. Help me recap the truckdriving moment.
Feuersturm: Well, when the last rush was on it's way, we knew it wasn't over yet :p But in ventrilo, it was actually very laid back.
No overexcited shouting?
Feuersturm: Could've been since we thought it was gonna be nothing more than a farewell match. But it turned out to be more. But no overexcited shouting, except darky's reaction in sd2 once the truck went all the way.
You guys knew you could make it or had you some of you already given up?
Feuersturm: Never gave up at any point, ever, not once. After we lost battery I remember thinking "now gonna win the next two maps one way or another and that's final". It still would have been a whole lot different if
ferus had played. I mean he was a keyplayer throughout 2004, it was devastating to lose him at that point. Xes sure had a laugh after the match coming from a 5-6 month break.
I remember "XES DEFUSE!!" xes: "WHERE WHERE??"
And him being picked as man of the match on top of that :)
Feuersturm: But actually he did well, the sd2 rage upstairs was nice. So whenever you need a standin for an ec final, call 1800-XES.
I gotta say thinking about it still puts a smile on my face. Like this :l
Well i watched the demos again the other day and its an intense moment, even for people that were not directly involved.
Feuersturm: Yeah, I wish the upcoming ec final would be something similar as well, but I think it needs a Xes to happen.
Hint to parodia who used two standins in the last ec finals.
Feuersturm: Yeah they tried to recreate sae vs. ins apparently, but no no no it can't be done without a healthy dose of inactivity and a Xes!
