Crossfight is a completley new redesign of the old koth we had on Xfire 2.
A complete run-down of the rules can be seen here.
Each team is assigned a level. There are 4 levels:
-Leader
-Top Bracket
-Holding Pen
-Relegation Zone
Each team can only challenge the level directly above theirs, and receives challenges from the level directly below. The challenging system is done via the new web-based system on Crossfire.
To provide an incentive for teams to challenge and to reduce inactivity, the competition is not a closed competition. This means that teams not part of Crossfight are able to challenge 'relegation zone' teams for the right to play in the tournament. If they win, that team swaps position with the relegation team. This is the same for all games: if the lower ranked team wins, the two teams swap position. This lets teams like qla6 still be able to play.
Also stacked in this favour is the wildcard and query system. For more about this see the "how to" page of this article.
Prizes will also be on offer for the longest Leader (excluding matchweek1) and most amount of games played. If the two are the same it will be the 2nd most games played by a team, etc. Prizes will be either prizemoney or PC hardware.
Teams can choose to play on a Tuesday or a Thursday, and can set the time they wish.

I'd guess not (since if so it brings up questions about what the hell happens if they win vs the higher team and lose vs the lower one), in which case, what stops teams being 'safe' from relegation every week simply by challenging teams above them? Even if they lose they don't drop positions, and there's no way a lower ranked team can challenge them, so they won't drop positions that way either.
hf teams!
Of course you could just use gtv for that, I guess.
