Russia has been behind unstableing the situation for some time now. They were the ones who armed the enklavs fighters with weapons and know-how of the usage. They were the ones who offered the citizenship to the south-ossethian people, which by the way came with a pension - while georgia wasn't paying them any.

You cannot deny that Russia's interest lie in unstable "near-abroad" with Georgia included of course.


Russians did a very poor job when "peacekeeping" allowing the ossethian forces to be in armed contacts with the Georgians on Gorgian soil.


Russia is to be blamed of overreacting, not following cease fire rules and on top of it all, attacking the territory of a SOVEREIGN country which had it's leaders elected in a democratic way.


Russia was just trying to fixate itself as a power in the that region and make clear for the other countries not to dare and argue with them because they will find a "reason" to use military force.


And the saddest thing is that the 'ordinary Russians' don't even understand how their money, political capital and international credibility has been destroyed while trying to bring back the disputed glory of the USSR.

The USA established thier own sattelite goverment in Georgia (like they did in numerous other countrys before, such as the Iraq with Saddam in the 80s, Israel since 1948, Guatemala, Haiti, etc.) to get a better access to the resources in the region, by building that Black-See-Pipeline in collaboration with Armenia directly to Europe. Now the Georgian goverment made the same mistake as for example Saddam in 1990, they went to far with their expansory ideas. Obviously the russian goverment is already displeased by the US-Rocketshield in Poland and the Czech Republic, which, to show another analogy in history, reminds me pretty much of the beginning of the Cuba-Crisis 1960, when the US positioned middle-range rockets in Turkey. I dont applaude to any war, although this agression was very predictable. But now, as they always try to, the US Goverment wants Russia, who actually was attacked, to take all the responsability for the war. Have the US ever taken responsability for what they have done? The examples of Nicaragua, Guatemala, Grenada, Panama, Haiti, Libya, Angola, Cuba and numerous others speak a different language.
