image: v5impcimage: transvAfter Estonia idle.ee have recently announced their comeback, they joined up with the North American organization United States of America Blight Gaming today. The lineup looks still unchanged, but they seem to be ready for CIC7 now!

Just wondering , why would mgc's like rockit, this now , and others be interested in this game??

Investing in a 6 year old game that hardly has publicity, only on crossfire...

I assume they pay entrance + accomodation so they invest way more then the 1500 Euro that the winner takes... And if they take 10% of the prizemoney or 20 % = like loss - loss ...

Or do you tell them you play the new Wolfenstein game or whatever??

well old players should stay to keep the balance or else it will be bigger skill lose. and then the statements as "lowest EC ever" appear. new talents will never be good as oldschool guys, only if they would be able to shockingly change the way of playing. but I kind of don't expect that since almost everything is learned from dudes whose first game ever was Wolfenstein 3D. :p

A team like idle costs about 1500 euros in total to fund to LAN in 5v5 (in 6v6 it would be more like 2000). 1st prize is 2500, 2nd 1500 and 3rd 1000 - I think it's unlikely that idle will make a loss at this event, given their team, and if they do it'll probably only be the 500 difference down to the third place winnings. The only question is whether they'll win the LAN and make a profit...

Incidentally, for a team like P&P which is all-dutch, the costs are far lower - you could do that on 750 euros total, if you kept to a strict budget.

If the MGC pays the entrance fee surely it would be them who get the winnings wired back to?

Either way, if I had my trip 100% funded I would probably happily forfeit all of my winnings. While idle might not be so willing I'm presuming Blight will be taking back a decent %.

There probably is a contract with a fee being negotiated depending on where the team finishes - however some orgs just get the costs back through new investments and or sponsors and dont ask for any fee to be repaid due to their faith in the team getting a high finishing place with some headlines etc. Id highly doubt that they would ask for the whole fee that they invested in them to send them to lan to be repaid. Its probably something like 20% of the winnings.
