Well the title pretty much says it all. After 1,5 year it's time for another ET Allstars event! Once again we will get the chance to see ET's finest fighting to e-death for glory and fame. Hopefully we will not only see the old stars but also some new talents who proved they are worthy of playing in such event since Allstars 2009.
As you can see there's been one major change to the map this year.
France has been added to South in order to balance the teams a bit. Another changed thing is the voting system. You will no longer vote for captains through e-mail. Thanks to support from Crossfire there will be polls on this very site, similar to those we encountered during Crossfire Community Awards polls. But who to vote for? Format: 6on6
Game system: bo3

Maps for games are picked by team captains and given to supervisors 30 minutes before game.
During groupstage each team can pick map once only.
You may only use 3 players from same country ingame
You may only use 2 players from same clan ingame
You must use players from at least 3 different countries
You cannot use player from outside the lineup given to supervisor
As you may have noticed this won't be a one day event like
Allstars hosted almost 2 weeks ago. In order to provide more fun for the players and more enjoynment for the viewers we've decided to make it a longer tournament to allow some shuffling in teams and also give them chance to play 2 maps per game. All teams will play each other, after that 2 teams with best results will play in Grand Final, while the other 2 will fight for 3rd place. And as I said, we know the deal within ET, but from outside ET already has a lot going against it - why add to it when it achieves nothing? 'for fun' is a bit redundant as you would expect all of the all-star players to be playing 5on5 already, and if not they shouldn't be there.
I believe that nobody outside this community gives a damn about what format this allstar event is played in, might as well make it more fun to play and spectate, and give 1 extra player from all regions a chance to prove himself.
If there would've been any kind of respected 5v5 competition running atm I'd disagree with 6v6 too, but since only ESL wintercup is played we could use this opportunity to give a large chunk of the community a small pleasure of having 1 event in 6v6 format.

5on5 isn't competitive so 6on6 is the only chance we have for a competitive future in ET :)
i know that there could be more teams aiming for the top spots, but i know for example the players i'd want to play with simply aren't too interested in attending a 5on5 LAN, especially when it's less of a community event such as AEF
quality > quantity imo
CiC7 had the most teams and players attend which makes a community event worth going to - I cannot really comment on AEF but it was the first one for ET there, it will improve I am sure.

6on6 is a great format, but as you know we require 5on5 to keep this game alive. Everyone who has studied this entire subject long enough has to come to this conclusion.
CB could've held the NC in a 6on6 format, but they decided against it just for the reason it gives people false hope.
I've got nothing against the format, I even prefer 6on6 in a regular scrim. I've got no problem whatsoever with people organising 6on6 cups. It's just that when you organise those things, people will start hoping to see 6on6 is *all* competitions, which just can't happen. I'm just worried those people will be disillusioned.
Were AEF and CIC7 really considered better examples of competitive ET than CC6?

However you're already convinced that permanently gimping the gameplay and losing top players is a necessary sacrifice for the "survival" of ET so I refuse to explain this to you AGAIN (considering many others have also tried and failed).

This is stupid, are we supposed to vote blindly? We need to see statements from each candidate where they can present their plan and program, their wanted lineups, their tactics in how to approach this and finally their goals.
Without those things I think it would be unwise to cast any votes.
