GET IN!!!
Nightlife in Swansea is very good too, although i'm unsure whether the students will be around in September.
Also that place from what i know is quite small, but it seems it has an upstairs too.
Looks a fun lan anyway, n1 merl.

Hilarious shit.
Maybe get sponsors instead of this shit, 50% fee is just way too much.
the aim is to give as much as possible to prize fund so as we get nearer to the LAN the prize fund might increase but its £1500 min for 12 teams
by the way we've costed in some money for 5 admins (mainly for petrol) and you get a trophy if you win (Merl wanted a trophy :p)
Would certainly consider being available.

rough estimations (including return):
FIN -> Amsterdam -> Enschede 240-290 euros (flights 200-250e, train around 40e)
FIN -> Bremen -> Enschede 140-200 euros (flights 60-100e, train 80-100e)
FIN -> Riga -> Bristol -> Swansea 160 euros + trains (no idea how expensive trains are in UK)
would be interesting to participate a LAN in some other place than NL (Rotterdam/Enschede), but not sure if I'll have enough money for it on september :(
Trains won't be much perhaps £30 from Bristol to Swansea maybe less.
but combining Ryanair and airBaltic it would be possible to do the flights for around 160 euros which already is a pretty good price in my opinion
If you read the Aalborg LAN comments ( before turning out to be a scam) nl/be ppl were whining their ass off how expensive it is. That's western Europe for you, they whine @ polish ppl why they dont show up, when they even cant go to denmark :):)
Just leaving this here as a warning for anyone interested.
too dangerous to fly :(
..Sounds decent, if it goes ahead I'm defo avi !!
Used to be like mid - havent played in a while, i'm sure i could get somewhere near tht in the next few months if i had a team to prac with.
Alternatively, if you're looking for admin - drop me a line in a pm.
gl boys
So i'll meet the one and only ritz kekz over there?
might do if he has a team ;D
There is a possibility that I might be around...
11 september!!
and they're doing us a nice price :p
Actually forgot all about freshers. So jealous.
Not that it wasn't good fun, but it's also not that outrageous.
Prize pool: £1500 minimum (For 12 Teams)
I know hosting lans isnt free but only UK teams will sign up for this with that amount of signup cost / prize money ratio. And thats even without considering the travel costs...
Im just bothering to reply since its in ur planning phase, u can still adjust it so my comment might be actually useful.
Also we could just raise the entrance fee for more prize money, +50 for each team and it will be a definite £2250 ish - but we preferred lower entry fee for the first attempt. :)
pretty much :)
Which is why this is interesting for UK players, since without the travel they might actually win something, European players will only lose money even if they win the event.
Of course I'm sure some will say "its not about the money" but I personally dont feel that way, and this is afterall my personal opinion :)
Make this lan early next year so it wont be straight after this one:p
Especially if Kamz is there, knock out special incoming.
going to the home leg game?
Sam Harris says (22:11)
no
exam the next day
I might be going, but don't have much cash to buy the ticket, would rather wait until the finals :PPpp
LOYALTY HARRIS LOYALTY !
hehe :) Sorry i couldn't resist but since i have lived in Cardiff or around the area for most of my life i actually would love to see Cardiff promoted but nonetheless was a good win for the boro (my team) :)
Would love Cardiff to go up fp ! :D
As for Cardiff in the prem that would be amazing, its too big a city to not be in the prem.
sup
Swansea is not far from anywhere central UK - I've driven there from Yorkshire in ~3 hours, so you could realistically fly to Birmingham (central UK), Cardiff (very close., just up the M4), London (a little farther) or any of the northern airports - Liverpool / Manchester / Leeds are all realistic - no further than Schipol to Enschede.
cheap flights from Ryanair and according to Google Maps it's 1,5 hours drive away from Swansea
was just doing some more research with Demz0r and found out that best option would prolly be to fly from Tampere (FIN) to London and take a train from there
flights (Tampere-London-Tampere) would be only 76 euros and trains (London-Cardiff-London) 74 euros
so I think that I'll most likely be able to afford the trip
pre-booked trains or just offpeak tickets wont be as expensive.
If your still down in ferndown at the time might be good to drive up together or summit! :)
hey maybe speak to hste bout making a team or something :)
im going to play with iN most likely tho
p.s. lift is yours if u can fit in my car
kid sais: what happend to you?
kevlar: got owned on and off the computer by this guy.
