The first category of the Crossfire Community Awards is called "Crossfire" and spans all activity that went on on your favourite website. First of all and most important is the person who has in your eyes contributed the most to our scene in 2011. We also take a look at the content created on Crossfire over the past year. Whilst the game might be lowered in activity, the content flow on Crossfire was nothing but. Furthermore the best journal of 2011 is elected which is going to be an impressive feat. From the more than 10,000 (yes you read that right) journals that were created this year, one will be known in Crossfire history as the best journal of 2011! We also acknowledge the biggest retard of 2011. Just like last year, the winner of this award will be rewarded with a one month ban.

All those nominated for the Community Member award deserves it. They've all obviously put down a tremendous amount of work and time into this and have also done it on a volountary basis. Great work! Should definitely get more encouragement from the community.

Who decided what content that should be nominated? And wouldn't it be good with a motivation for the nominations?

And what is Journal of the year award based on?

Retard of the year award is just childish. (:

Content was nominated by the panel that nominated all the awards under this category. The motivation is pretty much always the same, right? It's great content that stands out from the rest.

Journal of the year is obviously very very subjective, but the panel has put forward those that stuck with them throughout the year. Choosing 8 from 10000+ journals is almost impossible, but with some statistics such as most views and most comments we filtered out those that sparked the most interest in the community. Also, some of the nominees are complete series of journals. The work that went in to those series is admirable. Journals are often looked down upon as "lesser content", but some people manage to entertain so many of us that they deserve a special place in these awards.

Retard of the year is basically a stamp on those that have frustrated too many users over the past year. On one hand you can argue giving them more attention is bad, and calling them retards isn't very nice, but on the other hand these retards are often what most people have a strong opinion of - making it a great opportunity to see who exactly is the most annoying of them all. And in the end it's these trolls that give colour to our site, and without them maybe it'll all be a tat more dull around these parts. If you disagree, then the one month ban they'll receive will perhaps ease your mind.

As for the retard of the year, it could still be named better then - like, the most distinguishable member, or the most annoying, whatever was the motivation for that award (from your description it's not exactly most retarded).

AL1 must win the journal of the year award. He is being very open about his desire to have a 'Niggercock' (c) AL1. And he is extremely honest and open about a very sensitive subject for almost every crossfire user. I therefore believe that AL1 his journal content goes way further than just the length of your knob, it reaches every man's heart on this godforsaken planet. He achieved in making men talk openly about the length of their knob, he achieved in doing something no human being has ever been able to do before. He removed a certain barrier around this fragile and sensitive subject. And all this just by writing something as simple as a journal.

I think this should be rewarded with more than just a silly crossfire award.

In all fairness, he deserves a nobel prize.
