ESL Winter Leagues start!

image: winterseasonbannersmall

A new year has arrived and it is time to get the winter leagues started! All swaps are done, all teams are ready. Here we go with the Winter Leagues 2012! Several matches are already scheduled while other teams are still completing their line-up for this season.

This season we are going to try to provide far more coverage than we did in the last leagues that we hosted. You will see players giving out statements about the match, interviews, an admin spectating the match, after-match statements and for the first time, match reviews for those who missed the match and want a quick story about it.

In each week we will feature/highlight the most interesting matches in the first division(3on3 and 6on6). As we are always happy to receive feedback from players, if you have any suggestion regarding what match(es) should be featured in the next weeks, feel free to post in the ESL news. We'll try to provide a voting system for this matter as soon as possible.

ESL Summer Leagues 2011 Groups Announced

image: 160071iGroups are now done and live as all participants were waiting for some time now.
We had some problems regarding the seedings of the teams, as there were 64 teams in 3on3 and 72 teams in 5on5 that needed to be seeded accordingly with the rating that was given by team captains. Hopefully, we'll not have so many swaps requests due to few divisions and precise ratings.
Also, the schedule for this competition has changed a little bit. We now have 5 playweeks for the groupstage. Here's how the schedule looks:
  • 7th of June - 12th of June - Swaps
  • 13th of June - 19th of June - First matchweek
  • 20th of June - 26th of June - Second matchweek
  • 27th of June - 3rd of July - Third matchweek
  • 4th of July - 10th of July - Fourth matchweek
  • 11th of July - 17th of July - Fifth matchweek[/b]
  • 18th of July - 24th of July - Playoffs announcement
We ask all players and teams to play their match before every Sunday or on Sunday, to avoid having the match decided by an admin.Other informations like groups, mappool, how to swap and rules can be found in the original ESL newspost.

ESL ET Summer Leagues 2011

As in each seasonal leagues, we try to improve our rules and schedule so that players enjoy playing. Same goes for the Summer Leagues, where we are asking all teams/1on1 players that before signing up, they should add a viable IRC contact method on their player/team page.

We are pleased to announce our Fall cups. The system will change a bit from the previous seasons. The previous Fall leagues were independent from another leagues. This time we will link Fall and Winter leagues in one. Teams that will play in the Fall season and get a good place, will have a better seeding in the Winter Leagues. So, signup if you want to get in the right division in the Winter Leagues!
