image: ecxvi_logo_small

Following a very successful EuroCup XV season in the Call of Duty 2 scene, ClanBase have revealed the teams that will take part in the EuroCup XIV. A total of 20 teams have recieved direct invites to the cup with a further 16 teams taking part in the qualifiers stage to determine the final four teams of the cup, using the same system as last seasons EuroCup.

Round one has been completed as we embark upon the second and final round of the qualifier games. From the surprising 13:04 win from France G8.-ogz.eu versus Slovenia infusedGaming to the no show default win to Estonia Team Aquila against Spain emotive, only eight of the 16 teams have made it this far with another four to go out of the winder in round two.

ClanBase announce Call of Duty 2 EuroCup XVI team list

image: ecxvi_logo_small

Following a very successful EuroCup XV season in the Call of Duty 2 scene, ClanBase have revealed the teams that will take part in the EuroCup XIV. A total of 20 teams have recieved direct invites to the cup with a further 16 teams taking part in the qualifiers stage to determine the final four teams of the cup, using the same system as last seasons EuroCup.

Amongst the teams there are big names such as Belgium LowLandLions and Netherlands H2k.Qpad, who were both participants in the EuroCup XV LAN Finals that took place in Enschede, Holland last month. Also making an appearence is Italy Team-Impact.TCI, Czech Republic eSuba and United Kingdom Reason-Gaming with Sweden viciousandevil and the newly formed Europe OVERLOAd Gaming in the qualifiers.

With the long list of sign-ups ClanBase recieved for the Search & Destroy cups, it was a let down and a shame to the community that teams such as Europe TeK-9, Netherlands Serious-Gaming and Germany SPEED-LINK were absent from signing up for the final Call of Duty 2 EuroCup before the anticipated release of Call of Duty 4. All in all, my predictions lie on the cup not reaching it's usual standards with the absence of some teams but nevertheless it should still be interesting. The directly invited teams and qualifier schedule can be found below.

Austria GUMMI
Belgium LowLandLions
Belgium dfiance.Qpad

TeK-9 make some roster changes

image: tek9logoop3Multi-national Call of Duty 2 giants TeK-9 make further ammendments too their roster after the announcement of Dutch player Netherlands SKO forced to go in-active in the near future due to school and studies. The replacement for the fifth spot is not the usual back-up player that supports the team France vazy but a brand new addition to the line-up. The player is non other than former suXus player Netherlands Burak 'haya' Aydin who showed promising performances during his trialing period for the TeK-9 team. haya gave the following statement on the TeK-9 web site about the recent news.
Quote by hayaAfter suxus died, I was busy trying to find a new home for me to fit in. I couldn’t find a good team at start, but tek9 gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse :D. My trialling time went good in the time and at CPC2 I had a few words with the guys from tek9 and that made my decision pretty easy. So it was clearl for me to continue with tek9. We are now preparing for the upcoming tournaments and events. I hope to have a bright future with these guys and a lot of fun.

With SKO going in-active the TeK-9 team have decided to release vazy from their roster leaving a five man active roster with SKO still labelled on the squad sheet.

ixus win Netgamez 2007 Spring Edition

image: netgamezlogozl5
Call of Duty 2 coverage brought to you by sCARFACEEe and TosspoT!

Crossfire is back at Netgamez and will be covering the Call of Duty 2 tournament once again. With a handful of big teams in attendance its very possible that we could see not only some upsets but some fantastic matches.

Through to the play-offs ...
So the groups are finished and to many the results aren't surprising as we go forward into the play-offs. Both H2k-Gaming squads including Qpad and Thermaltake are through with an all win streak, but the winnings will stop for one of the squads as they both meet in the first round of the winner bracket. Very tense for both squads as they continue to rage through the Netgamez tournament. Also former digitalMind squad ixus have proceeded to the play-offs and also former dSLASH squad Team-Adacom have made it through. timere, Arousing and #Ephix 1 have all passed the group stages successfully and Team-EDiT also.

This will make for an interesting play-off table and we will have to wait and see what happens with strong squads still remaining!

Netherlands Rubber Duckies (10-13) Germany Team-Adocom

The germans picked up an unconvincing victory over the former CYBERATEZ side, despite being the better team throughout the match they took their time in sealling the deal. Kholli was inspirational with the rifle on burgundy, racking up 27 frags but the spread was quite large down to Flashrr who was in the low teens with his frags. Murdoc had some notable double frags to secure rounds in the second half, but at times it looked like we were headed to overtime.

After racing away with the early rounds, adacom got to 7 in no time. They were however pinned back by half time by 4 rounds from the dutch side. On allies, despite Kholli playing well with the sniper (notably landing one amazing frag on Heroic) the side lost cohesion getting and defending the bomb down at B and that allowed the duckies to get 10 rounds.[/hide]

Shildkroeten bring OCRANA back to CoD2

image: ocranalogo1iv1The time has come for another big name to return to Call of Duty from the depths of the classic original CoD and early CoD2 days. This time multi-gaming organisation OCRANA will return to their first fps based game since their former CoD2 squad were disbanded in the early days of the game. People may remember OCRANA as one of the top teams in the original CoD and probably the best German team of its time in CoD2 including members from the current SPEED-LINK squad such as Germany Trigger and Germany Fuchsstute.

The team bringing OCRANA back into the action of WW2 is Shildkroeten, a tight nipped German based team that was formed some time ago with members such as former OCRANA player Germany spaR. The squad have recently been out of the headlines for a while without really making any major changes to their line-up, but with the announcement of joining OCRANA the team have added two new players including former Adacom player Germany Kn0xX and former n!faculty player Germany K1ckzZ.

This currently makes out a six man active squad with the following line-up setting the first race for this hopeful adventure in their new home:

Germany spaR
Germany enJO_oy
Germany dizzy
Germany erv
Germany K1ckzZ
Germany Kn0xX

dEF from the OCRANA management also released the following statement:

"OCRANA is a traditional Shooter Clan. The decision to establish a shooter has got a very simple reason: Shooter belongs to OCRANA like fishbones to a fish. There are no other reasons or targets. It's just a step back to the roots. We hope that OCRANA will still bring more thrill into the COD2 competition."

We would like to wish OCRANA the best of luck in the future with their new Call of Duty 2 team.

Invite cup hosted by iG for wsvg4cod2

image: cod24wsvggr6 In attempt to back the recently fired up campsign of cod24wsvg, infusedGaming have teamed together with United Kingdom palmz from Team-Dignitas to create a cup that tests the North American way of playing Call of Duty 2 in Europe.

The cup will test the pam mode namr12 settings instead of our eumr12 settings and try to get used to the style and play of the yanks. One of the major setting changes in this that most will notice is the sniper limit being two instead of the European way of one.

This cup has been marked invite only with big teams such as Trademark-Gamers and Dignitas all taking part thus far in the ranks of the cup list.

The cup is this Thursday 14th December and starts at 19:00 CET with a live stream being broadcasted straight from FragTV.net.

Remember, idling in IRC channel #cod24wsvg at the quakenet and gamesurge servers will help all the most with this campaign and would be much appreciated.

Any help or suggestions you may have with this situation feel free to contact palmz at [email protected] via e-mail or MSN or look for dignitas\palmz over IRC.
