Packard Bell Questionaire

image: UK_eswc_PB_468x60
Packard Bell, one of the leading PC brand in Europe, official PC supplier of the Electronic Sport World Cup (ESWC) and ipowergames e-sports tournaments invites all gamers across Europe to take part in a short, 15 questions, gaming survey.

Packard Bell commitment towards gaming communities has been amply demonstrated by the numerous sponsoring of famous teams and e-sports events. (ESWC, 4Kings, Antwerp eSports Festival, ipowergames, CDC4). Today, Packard Bell needs the community’s voice.

The survey will help Packard Bell to determine what gamers want the most from their PC, and what would be the best possible configuration for the gaming community. It will only take a few minutes, and it will help Packard Bell to have a much better understanding of the gamers’ expectations.

A random drawing will reward 16 participants with the Eclipse MP4 Player from Packard Bell and 14 others with ESWC Masters tickets. Your judgement matters to us!”

ClanBase EuroCup XVII Call of Duty 4 Finals

CB EC Finals - 21:00 CET Wednesday 18th June - H2K Gaming vs Speed-Link

France H2K Gaming enter the finals a wash with controversy after a rather bizarre decision to call a default win over United Kingdom Dignitas. Prior to this however they played extremely well throughout the playoffs defeating Netherlands KomaCrew (25-22), Germany SK Gaming (25-20) and Germany Speed-Link (25-22). They recently came 2nd at the Acer Challenge at wzzrd in Enschede picking up €1,000 after losing to Netherlands KomaCrew in a 3 map thriller that went down to overtime. Despite so many great results I still can't call them the favourites in this match up as their opposition have hit such a rich vein of form recently that it will be 50-50 all the way.

Germany Speed-Link played well last night blasting their way into the EMS Finals with a swift defeat over Belgium LowLandLions. There path to the ClanBase finals however first met with defeat to none other than France H2K Gaming (25-22). From then on though they've left a path of destruction beating Finland CMAX (25-15), Netherlands Sample This (25-18), Netherlands KomaCrew (25-15) and Finland Team Turpo (25-14). Having beaten United Kingdom Dignitas in the EMS Winner Bracket Semi-Final they can perhaps be let off getting a free bye into the finals.

So there it is, a Final that could possibly be the last real EuroCup in terms of team attendance. Sweden Fnatic took the first step to boycott before the event but with United Kingdom Dignitas and United Kingdom MYM following there may well be more to come, especially when every other competition out there is offering more prizes. Nevertheless it should be a fantastic match and one you will not want to miss!

You can watch it all live with Deman on QuadV TV1.

EMS WB Finals - SL vs L3

image: backlotdEMS WB Finals - 20:00 CET 16th June - Speed-Link vs LowLandLions - Backlot

Germany Speed-Link are flying right now having reached the ClanBase EuroCup XVII Finals and now the Winner Bracket Finals of the ESL Major Series Season II. During the playoffs they have knocked out both Belgium TeK-9 on backlot in a tight match (13-11) and United Kingdom Dignitas on Crash (13-7). I would put them as favourites tonight as there certainly playing well right now.

Belgium LowLandLions came through the playoffs after an outstanding match against Sweden Fnatic taking victory in double overtime on Backlot (19-16) and then destroying Germany choZen on District (13-03). While they are the underdogs they should not be ruled out as Backlot can offer some suprises.

As you can see both teams have great results on Backlot so tonight should be an epic match and you can watch it live on QuadV TV1 with Deman.

Features:

» No pointer ballistics (impossible cause of acceleration)
» It's designed to work on high resolution mice (win coordinates aren't)
» Faster (in theory)
» Different and mostly smoother feeling
» Because of the above reasons it mostly helps against negative acceleration

Sander "Vo0" Kaasjager invited for ESWC finals

Last weekend the Dutch Electronic Sports World Cup qualifiers took place, featuring various talented players from the Kingdom of The Netherlands battling it out to qualify for the ESWC Grand Finals held at the NVISION event in United States of America San Jose later this year.

In a close and exciting final the experienced and extremely talented Quake 3 Arena player Netherlands Lemmy "if-22" de Groot defeated Painkiller champion and Dutch gaming celebrity Netherlands Sander "Vo0" Kaasjager, securing an ESWC invite for if-22, as well as a fully financed trip to San Jose.

Today Wsquared Media, the company organizing the Dutch ESWC qualifiers has however announced a second invite for a Quake 3 Arena player to be available, which has been given to Vo0 who ended second at the qualifying event. This invite does not include travel expenses, however this should not be an issue for the highly decorated Dutch player.

Other games featured at the ESWC Grand Finals are Trackmana Nations, Warcraft III, Defense of the Ancients and Counter-Strike 1.6.

Mick banned from Clanbase

Fnatic report that Dignitas hotshot Mick has been banned from Clanbase for repetitive abusive behaviour. Dignitas had already been removed the tournament after one player had the wrong GUID in their match and now salt has been rubbed into the wound.

However the fnatic article raises some interesting points about the ruling and the objectivity behind it. The admin who made the ban is also a manager of the team they were playing against when this happened (h2k) and h2k were also in violation of Clanbase rules themself by not taking demos from the match which is a forfeitable offence.

The post ends stating the Dignitas and MeetYourMakers will join fnatic in boycotting Clanbase's premier competition.
