After 48 hours of voting, the voting booth has closed and we have the first three finalists for the ET Idol contest:
HorsT - Alles Nur Lucker (195 votes)
equal - Kaas (186 votes)
Larg0 - Kuka Keksi (60 votes)
Larg0 won over LozZ by a 1 vote margin (no, there will be no recount, we are not in the USA), so it was a very close fight. Obviously, own musical creations seemed to be the ones that were most appreciated, the first two spots went to singers who played the guitar while chanting.
Thanks to all the others of the first group who have not made it to the finals, maybe you will next time!
However, it is just getting hot, as the voting for the second group is about to start, featuring our only female contestant and one player who has made it into the news yesterday because of a freshly founded clan:
Second group (voting until Friday February 10th, 10 CET)
lunachick - Hakuna Matata
mooncalf & overlord - Frozzy
Overdrive - Like A Virgin
Snoop - Nobody's Home
Sotapaa - Jingle Bells
Svensson - Swine Is Gay
v3xus - Big City Life
zeni - More Presentjes
Once again, only 3 idols will be seen again in the final round. Go vote!
As February sets in and the cold thaws out we bring you the first #ET-Cup of ’06. As promised this #ET-Cup is a little different, with the inclusion of a revitalised map list. For the first time you’ll get to play Adlernest_b7 in a competitive environment.
Thanks to our partnership with Ultimatequest clan servers we will be able to provide ETTV coverage for each round as well as offer prizes to the winners, including a 12 slot clan server and two teamspeak servers. (Prize distribution tba)
Cup Information Date: 15th to the 23rd February Participants: 32 teams Signups: Are open to anyone, though clans will be selected at the admins discretion
Eventhough many having lost count on which wave of ET is currently undergoing, there is still room for a new promising team to take form. For 2006, comes a new contender for the throne. This is zeni's ambitious vision to bring back sheer invincibility into current competitive ET.
Without a doubt Demiurge's ability to really go places is already there as one can interpret from the high-caliber lineup. The goal is no lower than what it was for the past tyrants of dignitas, saevus, u96d and the late uQ, meaning nothing less than to sovereignly conquer europe.
Compiled of players who already have success trapped under their belts, the pressure is on, possibly even more for those who wish to overcome them. Are we looking at another candidate for dominance? As we plunge further into this new year, that question will surely not be left unanswered. Fight!
As a follow on from Here , I will give you a little more information about the upload procedure for the Nationscup demos.
I had a little tchit tchat with TaLa!
I have now arranged for a real uploading site where you can submit the demos and they will be automatically classed and sorted.
For a movie, we need more demos... a lot more! I saw alot of nice things when i specced ETTV and it would be awesome if those players can upload their demos! Europe & America come one for once and make this movie a must to see!

From noname to coach... Kuraigus way in Enemy Territory. I can describe it something like that. One year ago, Kuraigu was a noname in the scene but now hes managing the german nationscup team. Therefore it was a pleasure for me to meet this person. Beside his eSport career, he`s still active in some other scenes and running nice projects. So read more about the person, who is still calling himself Kuraigu.
nAxiD had a nice talk with the manager of team Germany.
naxid: How did your eSports career begin ? Did you want to be something more like a hobby gamer, who is switching on his computer to play some comfy rounds of his favorite game title ?
Kuraigu: It began with RtCW. In the beginning of 2000 I mingled with a RtCW clan called GpK (German Pale Killers). After that it really began. People like "die suesse fisso" (<3 <3), "nordland", "hardly" and "flipmo" joined. With these people it was just more than hobby gaming. We got better and better and wanted more, so then we left GpK and joined a legendary Q3 Clan called "Deathreign". There, some players like pbreazer, dom, pk, speebrake and glotzer joined and so we got to be more professional in eSports. Together we were in 4 Clans like dR, Team-why, KinG and Team-helix.

Ever since the end of the Eurocup, and since the beginning of time, people have made "1000s" of columns devoted to ET change. The current poll talks about change. The columns list is saturated with people talking about change, and what to do about it. But of course, the only way change will occur is by trying out the suggestions, and seeing what impact it has.
Instead of just taking one suggestion and giving it a go, we've decided to make this into a proper and commmunity based exercise. For many months, people have talked about the 5v5 format. One of the key arguements for it is that less players are required in a clan, improving stability, and that 6o6 was only played because that was what the format was in RTCW. And, of course, it is something different; an alternative. However, there are those who are opposed to the idea playing 5v5 in ET: it isn't established, people will have to completely adapt their playing styles, etc. Whatever your thoughts, what we have in-store will let you make up your mind properly.
When testing a format, where better to do so than at the top. Having spoken to Night and CrozZ, we are delighted to announce that this Feburary, idle.ee and one4one have agreed to play in a showmatch, 5v5, in a fixture complete with ETTV, shoutcasters and of course written coverage. I mentioned not just taking one suggestion, and this relates to the map choice. Whilst the clans settle on their maps, there is one map that will be played for definite. You will have doubtless seen Nellie's adlernest column (and if not go read it now). Having played it myself, and looking at many people's reactions to playing a few games on it, this map is set to be big. However, it needs large scale publicity in order to achieve the exposure it deserves. Make sure you download the map before watching ETTV! The current version is _b7, but _b8 is expected out within a short space of time.
Featured also are config changes, which include serveral differences including 3 land mines per team, and only panzers allowed out of the soldier class.
So then:
We are always looking for more ETTV broadcasters. For ETTV live updates, and for details on how to get involved, please click readmore.
