With the groups announced and teams scheduling their first matches we are only a few days away from the inauguration of the group stage of ECXXI. This season the competition offers the community not only a new qualifier system, but also plenty of returns and most importantly BIG names.

However, there are also several teams which go into the competition as slight underdogs. That category includes Belgium nkNn. A rather unknown team who found their way into the EC and will have to face such renowned firms as United Kingdom Impact, Europe vae or Poland Berza.

In group B, there is the North-American based Germany e-wave. The underrated team nobody expected to qualify for the group stage is currently writing its own Cinderella story through a series of ambitious performances.

The amount of great teams participating may cause one nasty headache for the fans, who have to face a difficult challange of picking their favourite to win the gold. However, we must not forget that predictions made by fans are just a single side of a medal.

There is also that other side, which most of us either forget or ignore, namely the views of the participants. In this article I will try to uncover the hopes and goals set by the teams themselves for the upcoming 21st ClanBase EuroCup.
