RollStone talks

Upcoming Japanese start RollStone has a chat with beggin about himself and the Japanese ET scene. I tried to make this a "live" interview on IRC so I can follow up on any answers and ask to expand. Big thanks to RollStone for being cooperative and one of the nicest and most friendliest guys I have ever spoken to over the internet.

Can we do it again?

So, things haven't gone as expected for the Crossfire community recently. Wolfenstein is a complete and utter disaster, and there seems to be no support at all post-release. Activsion and id are no longer together, Endrant Studios is no more and Raven has made several employees redundant.

Wolfenstein's Journey

Some of you remember wolf1337 - a guy who registered on the wolfenstein-zone.com forums explaining the development of Wolfenstein and revealing the more techincal side to Wolfenstein , such as the use of Splash Damage's ETQW engine (highly modified id Tech 4). He was the first to give us some real information on Wolfenstein's multiplayer. A few months later, wolf1337 returned by leaking the first multiplayer map screenshots of Wolfenstein months before its release.

Developers Developers Developers

As someone from Microsoft once said: "DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS"

Developers are the ones who make a game, who decide how it will look like, how it will play like, and so on. They might listen to community or not, it's their right to know better as they are the creators.

Epic Veil

FAIL-Strike
what the hell where the developers smoking while including such a crap ?
i mean ... forget about the way it looks (like a pokeball *GO PIKACHU !!!*),
but the damage/splash it does is ridiculous ! Even a Grenade has more splash & does more damage then this "strike"
Compared to ET (or even ET:QW), where a airstrike destroyes half of the map, its totaly useless & can be removed from the game.

Why did we stop using the ladders

It's a warm summer day and I'm sitting on my couch reading crossfire. I have been reading about the sixth random cup on the website today, when I was wondering how I managed to survive my summer when I was still an active ET player and there weren't cups being held by every second clan. Sure there was the occasional one day cup or benelux cup, but nothing compared to the amount of cups held every day now.

Give the people what they want!

Doomsday scenario, 31st November 2009 - Wolfenstein has failed, TAG are a recognised political party, ET is smaller as a result of Wolfenstein and CoD6 stealing some players from the game and Crossfire is left with a community without a clear vision of content desires. What do you want from Crossfire then?

But it's not ET!!11

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory was a game released back in May 2003. Since then, most of us grew to love it, and many still play it day in, day out, in an attempt to improve their skill and get some of that e-fame.
