A free country doesnt equal "Doing everything you want", i dont understand you're reply i think its sarcastic but the polish guys are acting as hostile as possible towards the police. If they felt threatened (they;as in the police) yes. Which looks pretty justified according to the video you sended. To avoid getting beaten up like little girls i even draw an easy picture. So print this out and send it to all your friends and take ti with you to every football match you go and follow it and i ensure you, you will NEVER get beaten up by the police

They're coming on quite aggresive. The police tells them they can't enter the city (probably because polish teams are known for their hooligans). So if they keep coming closer and talking in a language they dont understand they will eventually push someone which will result in something like this.

I doubt it was meant to hurt him this much it was just an unlucky hit.

Its not the fact they stay in one place (moving on would prevent all this). Im not sure if you actually watched the video yourself. The guy with the shorts+blue T-shirt keeps being super aggresive towards the cops at the right side, at around ~1 min 3 of them keep moving they arms up in an aggresive fashion and keep shouting standing in arm-length from the police.

Last year with school i did some "research" on police-acts like this and this is what they get taught to do. Besides when that guy drops at 2:30, 1 police is checking out on him how he is doing, which i seriously doubt would happen in East euroipe.

This is my last comment then i have to work. to me it just seems you know this people and are upset about that guy being injured. But after all its his own dumb fault, the police did what they were suppose to and mabye gave some unlucky hits, but kept control. Next time they mabye realize they should back off earlier and don't want "revenge" on them because one gave a justified hit.

he edited his comment to "black guy". There was no "unjust use of force". They were asked to leave the area, instead they moved towards the police in an intimidating manner. Put it this way, if a bunch of guys with metal truncheons tell you to move back, then you move back. It's not rocket science.

What legal right do the police have to block their free movement? I attend matches home & away and have experienced this and worst.

The police at the football is nothing more than tyranny, with most of them being out to openly provoke violence. We've had horses charge us for just standing there drinking, and I've seen a woman chased up the hill by a copper on horseback who smashed her round the head with his batton. Batton charged by police in the away end at Birmingham (only our own fans in there, nothing beyond people jumping around & throwing beer).

Pretty much all violence at football (in England at least) is instigated by the conditions the police create.

First of all its about this particulair video, i dont say the police always does everything right, that was why i was pretty pleased with this video. Police in the Netherlands are basicially wimps 99% of the time.

And i'm actually pretty sure there is a law in which the police is allowed to set off a street or whatever they were going. Reading what you wrote, you obviously have bad experience with the police in the UK. I just can't seem to notice what the police are doing wrong in this video.

Oke, nothing personally but i really dont want to start another long discussion so this is my interpretation.

Everything is cool 'til ~40 sec. The polish already talked to the police so they obviously got their reason why they can't continue to walk there. Then something happend which you simply CANT see. But the polish people start to get aggresive from here and the police defensive. Things i notice, the girl isn't really harmed (she pulls her BF away) and from here on the polish people shouldve just backed off.

This is just literally what we can see. Call me whatever but i still think people should respect the police more and their authority. Now you can tell me when the "Excessive force" started (i think we both agree it was around 40~ sec when it all started)

I would argue the polices stance prior to that is already aggressive, given they've already battons out and ready to be used. I'd imagine (although the video doesn't show) that the woman got in one of the coppers face, which caused them to react and then as with every other bloke alive the other fans responded with "don't fucking touch her" etc. But even in their reaction you could see an acceptance that there was fuck all they could do. Nobody attempted to charge the police lines and nobody attacked the police. So I ask again what was the justification for lashing out at people? If anyone else did the same without the argument of self defence it'd be assault.

The police should be able to take some verbal abuse & posturing without cause for concern. Calmly walking people back works 99% of the time.

When Genk were champs vs standard, about 5000 genk fans went to genk city centrum, cops were undermanned there and for no reason used the watercannon. When innocent people got hit, some people (most of em not even football fans) retalliated. Alot were arrested and/or hurt
