MYM.cod4 'Calling 4 Duty'

Today MYM have ventured into the realms of Call of Duty 4 and have picked up the young and consistant TLR boys. With the earlier announcement of MYM shutting down their CS:S section they have decided to focus on Call of Duty 4.

The new MYM.CoD4 line up is as follows:

United Kingdom Morg (manager)
United Kingdom LoOkzor (captain)
United Kingdom SoCLoN
United Kingdom D1ablo
United Kingdom Mark
United Kingdom Stat

Statement LoOkzor: “Firstly I would like to say thanks to MYM for taking an interest in Call of Duty 4 and our team. It's going to be a real honour playing under the MYM colours, and as a team we hope to really make an impact with Call of Duty 4 and show everyone that this game has the potential to be big. And with that, as a team we are the best in Europe, under the MYM brand we hope to continue our strong form which we have held recently.”

Statement Morg: “I would like to thank MYM for taking the team in, and putting faith in us to grow the MYM.cod4 name. It is a really exciting time for Call of Duty 4, with it going from strength to strength. With already over 10 big LAN events announced for the summer it’s going to be a busy time for the MYM.cod4 team. Expect to see a lot from us in the coming months and be sure to check out what we are doing on the MYM website.”

It is also currently rumoured that TLR are considering lodging an official complaint to the g7 teams, of which MYM are a part of. TLR feel that MYM have steped out of line and broken some fundamental goals which the g7 set to achieve.

These goals are:
"To promote the cooperation, amicable relations and unity of the whole esports community."

"To promote cooperation and good relations between teams, players and esports organisations."

In responce MYM Mark Peter Fries, the COO of MYM has stated:
"If a team doesn't have a player on contract in anyway and the player hasn't signed any other legal binding documents that ties his/her stay to the team, then we consider them free agents. We might add the G7 organization offers free professional binding contracts for download on their member site www.g7teams.com . In case a player or a whole team would have been under one of those contracts we would, at any time, have consulted with them first, for a transfer with or without fees, or simply have waited for their contracts to expire if negotiations for a transfer, while being under contract, would fail."

Fastswitch switch

image: news

The number one Norwegian Call of Duty 4 team fastswitch have had to make some recent changes follwing hardware and internet problems that nitrAm is currently having.

Decemebr 2007 saw Norway become reinstated on the Call of Duty map when team fastswitch were created. Starting with the initial lineup of: Norway PSIR, Norway Gizzor, Norway ajzZ, Norway robon and Norway Nitram however Norway ajzZ was released to make room for Zenith and the team are going from strength to strenght since.

Look out for team fastswitch at the Norwegian LAN event The Gathering at the end of March where NorwayAlex will be making his LAN debute under the fastswitch tag.

CLUK19 on it's way !

Over the course of the coming weekend in the shadow of CDC4 will be the 19th central LAN UK (cluk19). Despite the goings on of CDC4, CLUK19 will be held at Uttoxeter Racecourse, Staffordshire. The event takes place from 29th Feb - 2nd March starting at 4pm on Friday running through until 6pm Sunday and costs just £45. It will be hosting the following tournaments

Counter-Srike: Source 5v5 with a max limit of 8 teams and a £500 prize fund.
Call of Duty4 5v5 SnD with a max limit of 8 teams and a £500 prize fund
World In Conflict 4v4 with a max limit of 5 teams and a £500 prize fund
An Expert and Medium Guitar Hero 3 fun tournament, a newly announced Audio Surf fun tournament and an eagerly anticipated Boat Race.

This LAN is certainly small but in the past 6 years it has gone from strength to strength. I realise it is no I-series or CDC4 but this LAN will be a good pre-training camp for team United Kingdom E-buyer who are signed up for the CSS tournament and the recently announced United Kingdom Team Packard Bell Cod4 team who are signed up for the Cod4 tournament.

With the wake of CDC4 I don’t expect much attention to the LAN however it is meant to be a social LAN with a competitive edge to it, and I feel it has and will achieve what it has set out to do.

Good luck to the event organiser and all teams and participants in CLUK19, and good luck to all attending CDC4.

With 114 paid participants and 8 spectators, CLUK19 will be a nice weekend LAN and good practice for upcoming LAN's such as I33 which teams participating in the tournaments will be aiming for.
