Violence is bad - and it's back!

The Belgian multigaming clan Belgium violence is bad, known for their high performance throughout RTCW history and taking first place in the Clanbase RTCW OpenCup Premier league in Spring 2005, are proud to announce two new Enemy Territory divisions.

The first a 6on6 team, consisting mainly of ex team Russia tank34 players will try to show its best with the following line-up:

Latvia Clown
Latvia dunno
Latvia fuzz
Russia Officer
Latvia vinyl
Germany zerender

I got a short statement from vinyl

QuoteEveryone in the [former] tank34 team have played together with team Latvia during past Nations Cup seasons, we're aiming to at least get a EuroCup qualifier spot in the upcomming season. Hopefully playing for such a big multigaming clan can motivate us to perform better and achieve.

They will be participating in most upcoming cups, including the #13 ET-Cup and ESL International Premiership Series.

Team Finland defix, after loosing several players who retired from active gaming, are a worthy squad to compete as a 3on3 team under the vib tag. Their line-up:

Finland Clouver
Finland funky
Belgium Spectre

More information to be availiable on violence is bad website soon.

Rotterdam Calling

Tonight, the final two LAN attendees will be decided, destined to join both Sweden Rewind and Netherlands team.nl, along with the 4 invited teams in Rotterdam. Both Rewind and team.nl fought through their second round ties earlier this week - with convincing straight map victories.

Tonight’s match of the week is an all Polish encounter that’ll surely pack all the punches. Both teams cruised through their first round matches, WoW overturning the seeded tank34 whilst Team Delta spread the death all over Malta.

In recent times Dtekt (WoW) have played second fiddle to Team Delta (Polewka), this is their chance to shine. Once again the maps will be Supplydepot2 and Radar, with Frostbite as the decider should it be required.

As the saying goes, this is too close to call. Niech wygra najlepszy lager !

The fourth and final ET qualifier will be running simultaneously to this. It sees Vicious and Evil take on AgonyRealm it what promises to be a hostile encounter. After much confusion the lineups have been finalised and practices got underway.

Quakecon Gets Interesting !

In a little under seven hours the match we’ve all been waiting to see gets underway. EuroCup champions idle.ee take on Team Crossfire in the Winners Bracket Final. Both teams just one win away from the Grand Final, safe in the knowledge a victory ensures they’ll be going home with at least $10 000.

They’ve both breezed through the opening rounds, dominating American pickup clans. It wasn’t until the WB Semi Final that Quakecon threw up an interesting clash. ETTV crashes aside, this had everything you’d want from Quakecon. KiH did all they could, but Team Crossfire dug deep and pulled off a full hold in the deciding map sw_goldrush_te - defying their critics. Can they go one better and do the unthinkable?

Lineups:

Sweden feruS

Europe Crossfire

Austria Darky
Austria Potter
Estonia r3vers
Estonia gza
Germany Butchji

Running simultaneously will be the penultimate round in the losers bracket. One final team is destined to go home empty handed.

wS are America’s last line of defence in preventing an all European 1, 2, 3. Can they emulate United 5’s outstanding performance last year and once again cause an upset? The stage is set for a rerun, having been knocked down into the losers bracket by favourites idle.ee - as Check6 did to United5. It’s a close run thing, but assuming KiH don’t underestimate their opponent they should come out on top.

Quakecon On GamesTV.org

Following closing of signups and a horde of interest in the Dallas tournament, the official business for Quakecon 2006 has begun. While most flags to be seen are American, it's the refreshing coloured EU flags that make all the difference.

With special thanks to arni, skooli, the ETPro, Quakecon and Crossfire staff, GamesTV.org will be heading exclusive Enemy Territory TV coverage to the whole event this weekend. Starting this afternoon, live broadcasts will be available on selected matches thanks to a new livestream constructed at the event plus a restless day of work for ETTV developers.

Throughout the event, the GamesTV Quakecon 2006 Coverage section will deliver the latest news plus match reports on most of the games. A team of dedicated broadcasters and writers are standing by to deliver coverage only your favourite games tv site could. Don't forget to also pin your eyes to the Upcoming Broadcasts box to the right throughout this weekend for the latest Quakecon games.

The planned Quakecon coverage from Crossfire will now be based over on GamesTV.org.

Quakecon Brackets Released

The full sign ups and brackets for the Quakecon 2006 ET 5v5 tournament have been released.

As expected, the 3 European teams received high seedings. idle.ee will have a relatively clear route to the final, avoiding both the European teams. Whilst Team Crossfire and KiH, assuming they progress, will face one another in the Upper Bracket semi final. This allows for an all European top 3.

Notable Matches:

4PM CET Estonia idle.ee vs. United States of America DfN
6PM CET Sweden KiH vs. United States of America PoN
6PM CET Europe Crossfire vs. United States of America USA
United States of America No Remorse vs. United States of America N|A
United States of America Warped Sanity vs. United States of America Grumpy Old Men

[*] Quakecon Brackets
[*] Teams Rosters

GamesTV.org will also 100% be providing ETTV, though due to limitations at Quakecons end won't be casting every match. There has been a huge effort by arni, zinx, bani, Lekdevil, skooli, reyalP and Angrykid to make ETTV a possibility, without them this would not have happened [no joke, today these guys put in 24 hours to make ETTV happen] and we owe a great deal of gratitude to them.

[*] Ability to handle high pressure situations and prioritize multiple projects
[*] Willingness to work above and beyond the call of duty, working to drive the process forward
[*]Ability to identify what is required by other departments and be prepared for it
