A Fresh Power at CiC7

image: logo4The previous eSuba team, now playing under the wings of Power Gaming, have changed their line up once more to beat inactivity.
They will be attending to CiC7 with the following players:

Czech Republic Jan "paradox-" Duchon
Czech Republic Nikolaj "Mazarini" Lazarev
Czech Republic Lubomír "Luboshmir" Pešák
Netherlands Erik "Froster" van den Biggelaar
Netherlands Nick "toxjee" Hol

The Dutchman Froster has recently joined the squad, and now also toxjee was added to the line up. The player is well known for his achievements in ButtonBashers and Serious Gaming.

Toxjee had the following to say to Cadred:
Quote by Nick "toxjee" HolAfter the serious gaming team I played for broke up due to lineup issues I went semi inactive, waiting for an offer, but not really looking for one, to join a new team. I played with a few different clans mixing and playing in cups, HoN (I am too good at it) and minigolf (unbeaten!). I got asked by Froster to play some matches with Power Gaming.

While we were playing it took off really well felt good playing with them. They're loads of fun, almost no whining and they all have really good team play. After that we played for a week or two and they then told me that I fitted into the team just right and they wanted me to join properly. I will be going with them to CiC7, so make sure I see you there!

Today they had their first official in the ESH Roccat SDMS cup. They won from Team Dignitas with 13-5 on the map crossfire, which surely means a great start and a confidence boost for the new line up.

The side is looking to achieve at CiC7 and we wish them the best of luck!

EnemyDown Acquired by Heaven Media

Heaven Media, publisher of leading websites for enthusiast PC hardware, gaming and esports, today announced the acquisition of EnemyDown, including its propriety X-Ray Anti-Cheat software.
EnemyDown launched seven years ago and made its name as one of the first sites to facilitate online tournaments and leagues.

Today EnemyDown supports titles ranging from popular console titles such as Fifa 2009 to some of the biggest games in esports, such as Counter-Strike.

Included in the purchase of EnemyDown is X-Ray Anti-Cheat and Mixes. X-Ray is of course the highly used anti-cheat software used by many leagues and tournaments around the world, and Mixes, while currently offline, is a formerly popular service that gives you an easier-than-ever way of getting into a quick game!

"EnemyDown gives Heaven Media another dimension to its media offering. Within the group of sites a visitor can read about the top gaming hardware, the biggest game releases, the teams and players in the professional field and now they can themselves play in some of the best run tournaments and leagues in the world." said Heaven Media’s Managing Director, James Reed. "In addition this supports our move this year into events, following the success of the Game Zone, run by Heaven Media each year at the Gadget Show Live, in Birmingham’s NEC."

"Heaven Media purchased this group of sites as we felt it would compliment what we already had in our portfolio, and it gave us a chance to grow our group, and at the same time support the community in rebuilding what was once a great set of websites," said Heaven Media's Corin Cole. "Given the choice of allowing these brands to fade and die or purchasing them, as gamers at Heaven Media it was a no-brainer. If we hadn’t purchased them, there was always a risk that they could disappear forever, and we couldn’t let that happen."

Team CoolerMaster Remastered!

After United Kingdom Mark ‘phantasy’ Pinny left Team CoolerMaster for Team Dignitas, a new CoD4 lineup was in the making. Yesterday the new lineup was announced, seeing the departure of Adam ‘TW!ST’ Cheshire. The two new members are United Kingdom Christian ‘stylez’ Hart and Germany Kevin ‘reflexzR’ Klempra.

Team CoolerMaster will look to continue its successful performance, which consists out of the following recent victories:

UKeSA Premiership
ESL Pro Series UK
Multiplay i37
The Experience 2009

The new lineup now looks like this:

United Kingdom Carl "vasquez" Finch
Netherlands Robin "robyYE" Swaters
United Kingdom Declan "germaine" Elcocks
Germany Kevin "reflexzR" Klempera
United Kingdom Christian "stylez" Hart

The team will be performing at CIC7, and we wish them the best of luck!

Declan "germain" Elcocks' statement]The past month or so has been somewhat of a rocky road for us at TCM, we went from being a team improving leaps and bounds with each event we attended to being merely Robin and I. With Tw!st deciding to hang up his mouse and keyboard, at least in terms of competitive gaming, and phantasy deciding to persue his dreams with the dignitas guys. It didn't really look too good, and then Carl dropped the bombshell that he would need to be inactive due to a lot more work hours. Me and Robin tried practically anyone and everyone we thought would be good pickups initially, but it didn't really seem right without the father of gaming at the helm. So we were really over the moon when Carl came on one night to tell us he was returning to activity.

Forunately Carl told us he would be coming back to activity just as we found the two people we wanted to carry on playing with, Chris (Stylez) and Kevin (reflexzR) are both on the same page as the rest of us strategically and mentally, which is what we wanted, and most importantly I can see us getting on perfectly fine at LAN. Hopefully you'll see us soon in as many tournaments as possible! Oh, and I'd like to take the opportunity to give a thanks to the two managers at TCM, walkah and Xman, they've been putting in a lot of effort with the organisation and players, and I'd like to thank them for being able to work with them for the past 6 months or more :)!

Christian "stylez " Hart's statement]Being away from the game for awhile I wasn't too interested in the scene or competitive play. I got asked randomly just to play in a mix team for the esports heaven cup with Germaine, it made me realise the game is still fun and i've been missing competitive play. Since mw2 turned out to be a complete shambles and the community deciding to stay with cod4 I was hungry to get back involved. TCM have supported cod4 from it's release and have always had a solid team to represent them. There was only one answer I could give when TCM approached me with plans to bring, myself and Reflexzr in for the new lineup. I look forward to be flying the TCM flag in their already established team and to play under the wing of Mr.Awareness himself!

Kevin "reflexzR " Klempera's statement]After the summer lans, TeX and OOF3 I took a break from gaming for quite awhile just playing casually in the german EPS ladder with TBH.MSI. I really look forward to returning to the cod4 scene again after seeing how the community stuck by it. It's great to be back and here with a great TCM line-up, they are a great bunch of guys and i'm proud to play for them. I'm sure Stylez and I can will fill the gap left by Phan and Twist.

Dreamhack QL Final Standings: Av3k Wins!

image: voxydx

Poland Av3k won the Dreamhack Quake Live Tournament after beating Sweden Z4muZ in what started out as a complete runover by the Polish player. After winning the first map and almost securing the victory on the second map, his mouse died and he chose to replay that second map. Z4muZ couldn't change the inevitable though, and while putting up a good fight, Av3k was simply better. The third map was a walk in the park for the Pole.
This concludes our coverage of the Dreamhack Quake Live competition. If you missed some of the big games, you might find them by browsing through the VODs of ustream.tv and levelupyourgame.
