Warleagues ET Season XII has come to an end

image: vxm2iu
Greetings Warleagues fans,

After a little more than 3 months of exciting matches, the Warleagues Enemy Territory Season XII has finally come to and end. In the finals Poland Team Celsus didn't play bad at all, even with some lineup problems, but the Finnish powerhouse Keskus Rikos Poliisi clearly had the upper hand in this match. My congratulations go out to Finland Keskus Rikos Poliisi as the winners of this season.

1st. Finland Keskus Rikos Poliisi
2nd. Poland Team Celsus
3rd. Germany AoW & United Kingdom increased

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all teams for participating in this season and I hope to see you all back next season. Unfortunately this season did not turn out as we expected, as the system did not support divisions (yet). This resulted in a rather strange cup format, with 4 winners of each division/group moving on to the winnerscup. Hopefully the next season will have a better system so we can have a separate winnerscup for each division.

Return of YAWn!

After a long period of downtime Yawn is finally back. The site isnt fully operational yet but the database is up and running again which means you can lookup player information and servers are streaming. For now the Yawn.net client is not working.

Quote by tziekYou might notice that currently some features are disabled/not configured yet. We know things need to be tweaked (a lot). But... at least the website is back. We hope it is appreciated :).

Killerboy, time to start busting!

Q&A with Drago: Enemy Territory.

image: qandadrago

Our German Wolfenstein player Germany Sebastian 'Drago' Ohrmann has quite a history as an Enemy Territory player, being amongst the finest players of the game. That is why he decided to treat the Wolfenstein: ET community on an opportunity to ask him anything they wanted, as long as it was game related. The result was a very informative article which shows a lot of ingame tricks and tactical positions to the readers.

Article: Q&A with Drago: Enemy Territory

Here's a preview:

QuoteQ: How would you attack first stage Supply against a better team? (Nellie)

Drago: Supplys first stage defence is alot about the "flow". Axis will set up crossfire, then commence to push out and selfkill. A proper artillery will be in place to keep you from pushing in at this moment and most likely some Axis player will be still alive, delaying you just enough for his reinforcements to arrive. There are several ways to break through such a defence, I will explain two for now.

1) Use explosives. This might appear random, but can actually be pretty consistent. The most popular way to do this is the Rifle on the main street, shooting either the window, behind the barrels or in a doorway. A panzer on top, shooting in the upper or lower doorframe. An engineer from cave, spamming nades to the upper level or into the lower doors.

2) Suppressing fire and revive rushing. The approach seems similiar, an engineer spamming the upper level with nades and a rifle shooting either the upper window or lower barrels. This is best achieved by having three medics on top, trying to push through. If the enemy rifle player prefers to play up, it is vital to kill him. The most common position is the leaning spot on the upper left, your rifle player should always shoot there prior to your rushing. It was also popular to have a smoke grenade at either the upper or lower entrance to block the Axis players sight, however I have never tried that out and am not to fond of it.

Team YoYoTech FiF back for more

After a long and nice summer, United Kingdom Team YoYoTech FiF is back to play both ET and Wolfenstein in upcoming cups, such as the Steelseries cup and CB EC/OC on both games. We are gonna play both games because on one hand we want something new, but on the other hand we really like ET and Wolfenstein in its current shape isn't that attractive for us.

As there are some players who only want to play ET/Wolf and not the other game, we needed a new member. That's why we have one new member to announce, Belgium dAv1d joins us to play both ET and wolf. He's a guy with a lot of experience, teamplay and aim. Therefore we are really happy to recruit him in addition to the basic 6 most of you guys know already.
After reaching twice the 5th place on a crossfire lan, we will be trying to reach a higher level at the next CF lan. We are looking forward to the announcement of the next lan.image: t99jrn

Heart of the Mamut

image: 7b4z6pr2nvdzdryp7nf2

It's the third day of September and against all odds the infamous Enemy Territory team of Slovenia mamut.si has once again returned from the shadows! Tonight they will face the side of Poland heartZ in the epic ESH Steelseries ET Challenge Cup.

One anonymous player from Slovenia seems to be fairly confident about the chances of mamut.si - "We're not playing at all, top 1 should be very well possible - personally I think we've got a good bracket to win this shit.".

Does the arrogance of the champion team still match their skills or has their previous inactivity and ventures into Wolfenstein impaired their abilities? Tune in tonight and find out!
