3.200€ LAN event in Poland

image: phpjjjusoamhp7

Enemy Territory events with money involved are quite rare but that is nothing new to the common ET player. Ever when there are bigger events popping up, we are more than happy to see someone actually investing into our game. Some events turn out great like Crossfire's very own Challenge series, the Poznan Game Arena back in 2006, the QCups and also the ESL Major Series. And some events - like the Expekt.com Cup, which has been announced recently - turn out negatively as the tournament unfortunately never happened due to uncertain promisses and a weird registration process. The result is a kind of disbelief towards new announcements - which is only logical and understandable.

Now a new promissing LAN event has been announced which is going to take place in ET's probably most active country - Poland. After CC5 and close to the next ET main event, also known as the 'EasyBash' project, initiated by United Kingdom TosspoT, will the Bydgoszcz '09 LAN event appear on the ET agenda. Organised by the Polish multigaming organisation Fast2KiLL - which recently picked Poland Blurred Vision as ET team to send them to Enschede - in cooperation with major partner IBM as well as partners like Fujitsu Siemens, MultiKino, ET.Owned.pl and Pretorian - this event features an Enemy Territory prizepurse of nearly 3.200 € in cash, together with hardware prizes by Fujitsu Siemens and clothing by Pretorian. The venue for the LAN will be the MultiKino cinema in Bydgoszcz, Poland (also known as Bromberg).

aToOn with OpenCup trophy

2008's December will be opened by ET SW OpenCup Fall 2008 Premier League Grand Final. Two boxers are already waiting in their corners for first 'Fight!". In one we've got Benelux 8bits/FiF *Green*, in another - Germany aToOn. After several reschedules, I believe final time is set and a viewers can prepare for spectacular show.

Belgium8bits/FiF *Green* are on killing spree. They've won 5 games in a row. What's worth mentioning, their last win against this year's EC finalist - Europe Button Bashers, is placing them as the favourites of this match. Benelux team is lead by Belgium Jere, who makes sure that rifle grenader tasks are completed.

Germany aToOn didn't loose a single round yet. Their ambition is to continue the Europe TAG's road trip. They are considered to be underdogs but...they've beat FiF Green 4-0 in group phase. They were 1st finalist as in 1/4 final game Poland Authentic-Gaming vs Europe one4one "both lost by not showing up".

CC5 CoD Seeding Tourney

EC Loser bracket for the win!

image: ecxviiilogo_small

This year’s last november sunday will stay in your memory. It is because it’s highest time to know who exactly will be fighting for EuroCup XVIII trophy. On the one side, in the grand final we will certainly welcome Europe Button Bashers – the winner of winner bracket, considered by the most as the biggest favourite. This top team has won their consecutive road into the grand final after losing one map only- versus Finnish powerhouse Finland Vicious And Evil. On the other side, we will have the winner of the sunday’s loser bracket final. And for those teams show we are awaiting!

CC5 CoD Seeding Tournament Reminder

As previously announced, this Sunday is the CC5 CoD4 seeding tournament. The tournament will kick off in #cc5.seeding on Sunday afternoon at 18:00 CET, so can teams make sure they have a representative in there at that time.

The general jist of the tournament is to get our CC5 seeds as accurate as we can make them. So performance in the tournament will be our gauge for that and seeds will be a direct correlation. We will run a 16 team (meaning some byes) double elimination tournament with some minor pre-seeding. This tournament WILL NOT finish, We don't want to know who wins it and will stop at 4th place. The format will be Best of 1, Max Rounds 12 and will be run by myself and Morg.

Any questions, send me an email to tosspot at gmail dot com.

KillerList 2008 - Strike you're out!

So finally the day has come again, almost another year has passed, and we have managed to get netCoder's database for the third time in 3 years! Now i would like to introduce this list by using Germany Pansemuckl's quote, it will tell you about the people who are dumb enough to buy or use cheats.

Quote by Pansemuckl On the one hand, CF has brought alot of attention and traffic to our site. Which looks good in the first place. But you need to look twice: These busts of top players really did have an effect on those who cheat in leagues. Alot of them are scared now, and desist from using cheats. The score is even I'd say... a few more public punks but less PRO hackers.

TosspoT's In Heaven

Crossfire owner and Crossfire Challenge organiser United Kingdom Stuart “TosspoT” Saw today joined Heaven Media, the parent company of the popular Cadred.org site. TosspoT will take on the newly created role as Director of Esports [sic] overseeing all aspects of Heaven Media’s existing Esports ventures and working to develop a few of his own.

Heaven Media are a company based out of Cambridgshire, England with interests including Gaming Heaven, Drive Heaven, cadred.org, Heaven League and Supplier Heaven.

What does this appointment mean for Crossfire and the future of the Challenge events?

QuoteYes, some of the new projects are already existing ones, others are old entities. Obviously with myself I bring Crossfire and QuadV into the fold, the full depth as to how far in those will go is yet to be announced and there will be some cool announcements over the coming weeks regarding those. Beyond that, as I mentioned to you in my last interview on Cadred we talked about a project called Easybash, which was going to be a league and live event we were going to build on the back of the Crossfire live events.

...

Now with Heaven onboard we’re able to realize a lot of the potential that we have in those events. The limitation I had over delivering that event [Easybash] was that we didn’t have the infrastructure in place that we thought we were going to get from certain sponsors. Now Heaven are in place to make sure we get that infrastructure in place and can build a very new and exciting esports competitive project.

Read the full interview on Cadred.org for the lowdown on what this means for Cadred, Heaven Media, Crossfire and the future of esports in general.
