CoD4 QCUP - Round 2

image: v4

After a turbulent first round of the Crossfire QCUP Call of Duty 4 tournament we've finally come around to processing all the results. You can find the updated brackets and fixtures here and here respectively.

There were no big surprises this round as teams like United Kingdom 4kings, Sweden EYE and Belgium TEK9 have found their way to the next round. However due to a number of unfortunate dropouts we would like to stress yet again that all teams have to play their next match before the deadline expires. Read the rules again and again until you've learned them by heart. To save any disputes, make sure you fully understand all of these rules before playing your games.

Warsow QCUP - Round 2

I do have to say that the first round of the QCup went surprisingly smooth, with only 2 out of 15 matches being defaulted. (For those people who don't know 1on1 tournaments this is quite a lot)

ET:QW QCup Match Day 1

image: v4

Today was the first match day for the ET:QW Qcup tournament.
One of them was Germany eGamespoint versus Finland Team-phonetic, which has been casted by United Kingdom Splodge from QuadV.

Germany egp 4 - 0 Finland phonetic

Splodge's Matchreport:
QuoteArk: egamepoint set out with a point to prove and did just that, destroying the generator and constructing the mining laser in just over 2:30 minutes. From them on phonetic were going to struggle to withstand the attacking team but for 3 extra minutes they held on to give themselves a chance in their attack.
Phonetics attack on Ark never really got started and were held at the generator stage for the full time limit. They were no match for the concrete tactics used by egamepoint and clever use of the Titan and roofs made their defence unbreakable.

Island: Phonetic started off slowly on their attack with them taking around 6-7 minutes to get their hands on the data discs, from then on it was reletively easy for them to complete the final objective and managed to set a respectable time of 8:45 egamepoint's weak final stage defence left them with some work to do, however a fast attack on the first two stages enabled them to leave themselves 3 minutes to transmit the data disks, however a string effort from phonetic meant that the objective was completed with just 30 seconds to spare.

ET QCUP - Round 1

image: v4

Also the Crossfire Qcup ET tournament began yesterday. After the late dropout of mentiz, we found a replacement team under the name of Germany Retroactive.
Two teams already got their tickets for the next round. Finland Incomplete won over the german sided Germany aGu while Europe TLR had an easy victory over Europe Mindless-ET

Finland Incomplete 4:0 aGu Germany
Europe TLR 4:0 Mindless-ET Europe

As you can see still a lot of matches have to be scheduled and played BEFORE monday 10/12/2007
When you finished your match, make sure you send the results to one of the cupadmins (Hentai and/or Rfki).

Warsow QCUP - Round 1

Day One of the Crossfire QCUP Warsow tournament has begun and I do have to say that it wasn't exactly a small amount of work.

First off, I'd like to apologize that I was a bit late with the seeds, I was at uni and had to get that sorted. However, when I did get him I started to bracket you ladies up.

I made pictures ^_^

The moment you've all been waiting for is here - the brackets and fixtures of the Crossfire QCUP Call of Duty 4 tournament are up!

We had to go through the staggering amount of almost 100 signups and all this wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for your trusty admin England Penn, who has been plowing through tons of mail, PMs and IRC queries for the past few days.

CDC4 Cheaters ruling

After lengthly discussions and in an effort aid the anti cheat effort Crossfire has extended its policy on cheaters. This has no effect on the QCUP but does for CDC4 and potentially for future site bans.

Any player with a previous Clanbase ET Ban will not be welcomed into the ET tournament at CDC4. This ruling is done with the intention of discouraging current cheaters and hoping to continue to discourage any future use be that experimental or sinister. So for that reason, if you have a previous CB ET Cheat ban for whatever reason, you will not be playing ET at CDC4 (no exceptions for previous attendance).

Right now this decision has no implications on the other tournaments at CDC4, ET's situation is somewhat unique and broad, other tournaments will be discussed later in December and published in the full rules.

Crossfire is currently reviewing whether it can be of any further use to the anticheat effort and this may not be the only announcement on the subject. This ruling will become unilateral on Crossfire after the QCUP.

Crossfire QCUP Update #2

image: v4

In anticipation of the publishing of the brackets later this evening we would like to draw your attention to the following updates for the Crossfire QCUP Call of Duty 4 tournament. Please check Crossfire regularly for updates as the tournament progresses!

TLR: In With The New

As the TLR organisation moves forward we have to say goodbye to the old Enemy Territory team and bring in a new one. As some of Impact Gaming could not continue with actively playing, the remainders of the team have came over with a few others to compete under TLR.

Along with this we can introduce a new manager into TLR. United Kingdom Paul "eVo" Sexton was a huge party of Impact Gaming and will now move over to help TLR with management along with Ben and Mike.
