The final video interview of QuakeCon 2007. The Europeans came, saw, dominated, and left America with titles in both tournaments. Although the only European team in attendance this year, the strong squad defeated a field of teams who should have been more prepared than they were. After getting dropped down by HOT to the lower bracket, Dignitas stormed back and full held HOT in the grand finals. One more event for Europe to brag about. Gameriot.com caught up with team leader Thomas "sondac" Sorensen along with Frederik "huggo" Christensen and Peter "utr" Mogensen at the airport for some questions. Dignitas talks about their thoughts on ET:QW competitive play, Battlefield verse ET:QW, their comeback from the lower bracket in the grand finals, and explaining their involvement of denying HOT scrims.

We already played team HOT 2-3 times. We saw quickly that they were the favorites to win this event, so we decided not to play them anymore. We didn't talk to Check-Six or 20id at all. We played them instead; they were not so good so we felt it would be better to train tactics with them since we'd meet HOT in the finals.

Being one of the few teams to be have been granted access to the closed ET:QW beta, Team HOT went into QuakeCon 2007 as the number one seed and the favorite to win. Europe's only team in attendance, Dignitas, thought differently, and snatched away the championship just inches infront of HOT's face by coming from the lower bracket and defeating them twice in the grand final. HOT's Kyle "dep" Tramtham sat down with Gameriot.com to discuss the team's road through the QuakeCon 2007 ET: QW tournament, their troubles verse Dignitas in the grand finals, and some interesting drama regarding the champions, 20ID, and Check-Six leading into the event.

We had a lot of boycotting, sandbagging from certain teams. 20id, Check-Six and Dignitas decided not to scrim us. If there was no boycotting of scrims, it would be 2 US teams guaranteed up there [in the finals]. When we first started scrimming Dignitas, we were teaching them things, they were going leaps and bounds in scrims since the first time we played them.

Ultraviolet Productions are proud to present their third official Enemy Territory movie, and also the third official Enemy Territory movie of the Belgian supremo - mAx in mAx Chapter 3.

Almost two years since the release of the previous mAx movie comes the latest installment. With November 2004's mAx Chapter 1 and July 2005's mAx Chapter 2 being made by mAx himself, the responsibility of making the third chapter to complete the trilogy belongs to Ultraviolet Productions Founder -Max-.

Not long after the release of -Max-'s previous movie one4one Decimated in August 2006, -Max- and mAx began discussing fragmovies. Originally not interested in a single player fragmovie, the two found that they shared many ideas. With -Max-'s previous movie stretching over 22 and a half minutes, including a storyline, it was time to explore something vastly different. With a player of mAx's skill and the possibility of a much shorter, fast-paced fragmovie, the offer was too great to turn down and the project then evolved into mAx Chapter 3.

Work began on a soundtrack in the closing months of 2006, one track of which would reflect some of the style of the previous movies, with mAx's love for hip-hop. When editing began around February, one ambition of -Max-'s was to bridge the gap between the content-orientated movies and editing-orientated movies. The comparisons between the likes of one4one Decimated and Souvenirs by Ganon, motivated -Max- to find a middle ground.

Since the frags were to remain important, it was decided to include in-game sounds, to give a better representation of the quality of the frags themselves, and to add some extra tension. However, with the level of editing that was required being so high, this was not possible. So instead -Max- has spent a lot of time adding sounds manually from the pak0.pk3 file. While a much more efficient solution, it required the sacrifices of several elements of what would be present otherwise. For example, the sound of opponents shooting back would simply be impossible to do to a high standard, though we've tried to make its absence as unnoticeable as possible.With the inclusion of multiple streams, the gamesounds are optional - not included in the second stream.

Top Swedish Quakewars team one2 has today agreed to join leading Danish multigaming organisation Copenhagen.eSports.

The side have taken to the game like a fish to water having beaten Europe's other top sides such as Kompaniet and Quakecon champions Dignitas. The side has won the QWL & Clanbase QW Cup aswell as winning tonights inQuake cup! The move is important to the game as it see's a second financed side on the top level of the game.

Copenhagen's manager Janus Bengtsson had this to say;

This is also a test from our side, since this is the first time we try to take in a team in a games betafase. Dignitas' CoD2 leader Mick has wielded the axe on his squad, in a remarkable move culling two of the sides household names the side are now left with just 3 players. Having not won a major event since CPC1, the side have just a handful of events left in CoD2 to shine.

Ben has been with the team as long as most has gone under the axe, along with Trainee who had a great i31, but hasnt had the greatest form prior to that. When the side picked up Blackmane after dropping mint the pressure was on Trainee to perform with the sniper as the side had a more than capable replacement waiting for him in Blackmane and it appears Mick has chosen Blackmane over Trainee.

Crossfire talked to Dignitas Manager ODEE who had this to say;

The team decided that it needed changes even after we had a pretty good i-series and obviously we are disappointed by the changes. Mick feels that this would be a good way forward for the team and I do not think we will have a full UK lineup in the future. I will insist that the new players will be crash tested to destruction before they join us, trainee and beNN are hard to repelace. We will not attend wonderbase unfortunately, the new team will need to prove itself first.

The pressure is most certainly on Mick to deliver a squad that is capable of competing at the highest level. The rumour mill is undoubtedly rife with speculation on their replacements, with manager ODEE confirming they are likely to look abroad the potential list of candidates will be long.

Yesterday the finals of the mini CODQCUP organised by Qpad and Call of Duty.se took place between Dutch all stars Serious Gaming and the Finnish powerhouses of Team Logitech. The prize? Free tickets for the Wonderbase LAN which will take place later this year. Due to the lack of coverage for this cup on Crossfire we will begin with a rundown of this small cup involving various big teams.

Well long time ago we´ve posted anything, so let´s have a look at what has happened in these passed 2 months when we were closed.

Our succesfull CoD2.NL and CSS.PT teams disbanded.
Our CS.UK team went inactive for the summer vacation.

In other unrelated news, the head honcho Ian has only gone and got himself married! He has married a South African lass that he worships! I was at his second stag party (greedy sod), I can un-honestly say he didn´t get drunk and his wife to be didn´t have to look after the poor soul the whole night when he got home and threw up...saying something for the future maybe! Anyway, join me in wishing Mrs Parker good luck with Ian and I hope they are happy for a long long time! If I had a drink I would be toasting them right now, as it is I have a hangover so I won´t be. Cheers.

Oh and VoDo almost finished his university degree, he´s awaiting for the scores of his last 2 exams so let´s hope for the best !!

Wouldn´t know what else to mention, anyway to keep it short we are once again back and are hoping to have a bigger impact on the scene this time around.
