CoD2 results rollercoaster!

The rollercoaster that is Call of Duty 2 has been taken on another ride, the scene has not seen any team take two back to back major titles and after shgOpen, digitalMind looked like they would be in a strong position to do just that, but with the rollercoaster in motion their form took a massive nosedive!

In the Eurocup final played on Wednesday, Dignitas challenged digitalMind after losing TWICE to them at shgOpen and walking away from shg without playing the EC final which was due to take part in Copenhagen. However one swede more and Dignitas are back with a bang defeating digitalMind and winning Eurocup.

Dignitas 25 - 20 Netherlands digitalMind]
Dignitas 13-11 Netherlands digitalMind (Toujane)
Dignitas 12-9 Netherlands digitalMind (Dawnville)
demo (Toujane and Dawnville) [POV: Trainee]

That shocking result, which overturned digitalMind's PERFECT record at shgOpen sent Dignitas into the OGC exhibition game against TeK-9 as favourites. That match was played tonight on the exact same maps as dignitas vs digitalMind, surely someone could at least win two nights in a row?

Nope, TeK-9 in a match organised by them to show off Online Game Challenger went to town on the newly crowned Eurocup champions, winning €250 in another surprising result:

Dignitas 13 - 25 Europe Tek-9]
United Kingdom Dignitas 8-16 Europe TeK-9 (Toujane)
United Kingdom Dignitas 5-9 Europe TeK-9 (Dawnville)
demo (Toujane) demo (Dawnville) [POV: Davy]

If I were a betting man, Call of Duty would be a game I'd go nowhere near! Form guides dont exist and it's all to the joy of the spectators!

CPC Roster rules & Qualifier Results

We've had a number of inquiries with regards to new players joining a variety of rosters, with Dignitas picking up mint and soon to replace Night, with Impact gaming recently adding m1lk, I felt it important to clarify the rules on such scenarios.

You are allowed to make 1 roster change without us being concerned, this rule applies to all teams no matter when it is made. However upon making replacing your 2nd player, you must get approval from Crossfire for that player to be added to your CPC roster (unless you are replacing your first addition). Each case will be treated subjectively.

Additionally, the qualifiers finished tonight with the following results:

Call of Duty:
Slovenia oxid 13-6 Germany dSLASH (adocom)
Czech Republic eSuba 13-6 France takecare
Sweden scubadivers 13-9 Italy impact
Netherlands iNFlux 13-9 Poland eliteplayers

ET
Netherlands Pingwings 4:0 Czech Republic infrag (who replaced retro4u)

And finally payments are due for all teams attending the Crossfire PrizeFight Challenge. Each ET and CoD entry is 35 euros per player (if you are playing with 7, 7 payments are due), RTCW payment is 25 euros per player. We urge teams to pay well in advance of March 9th to avoid any problems and the risk of losing your spot to another team.

Please make your payment to the following bank (note we only accept bank transfers):

QuoteNonix's sequel to the massive 2005 Golden Llama Nominee Winghaven: Out of the Way, has finally arrived. Winghaven: Out of the Way 2: Expect the Unexpected has been in the works for around 18 months and the hard work shows. Nonix has included an interesting story, visited cleverly at several points throughout the feature. The intro feels quite long, with some unnecessary information but once the frags start, and the well-chosen soundtrack kicks in, you forget all about it. Stylish editing and cams make up the majority of this movie, with only a few effects which didn't come off so good, and the frags are of mixed quality. The config and the outro aren't great but the editing is what I enjoy in movies, and Nonix did a good job balancing creative editing and a very nice soundtrack.

QuoteI’m not a movie expert, but one thing is sure: I will never forget this movie! It’s something different than any other fragmovies I watched till this time. The Expect the Unexpected has an own style, it’s not just bunch of frags, I really enjoyed watching it. The editing is just fantastic, now I know why took one and a half year to finish this video. People just cannot blame the music with this quality of editing, because it’s awesome, and in addition you cannot concentrate on that while watching the film, but you will see! Overall I regard this movie as a breakthrough, it shows some new way for the upcoming projects, and although it’s different than the first episode, it’s a very good sequel after all!

The second Enemy Territory movie is created by another skilled editor Poland Thoro, and it shows this game from a different angle, this movie is worth for downloading too!

QuoteAs always Thoro Pictures has produced a remarkable piece which is one of the few movies going up against the cs guys in the creative movie contest. It's nice combining battle scenes with voiceovers of a factual event of what happened yet inside the realm of Enemy Territory, it's a great job and I hope for Lukasz he gets those prizes!

Have fun while watching the movies, and if you like them, please vote for them (and for Enemy Territory) on the contest page to help reaching a good result in the Open Games Category!

Speedlink return for CPC2

image: 20060724195534

After a period of suspended activity German Call of Duty giants Speedlink are back with a bang, and their first target is across the border in Enschede. After placing second in a thrilling Crossfire PrizeFight Challenge 1, their first event after returning from inactivity will be CPC2.

The german side have after trialing 15-20 players finally come to their decision some months after losing their last man. However they are now set with former rewind call of duty player z1N. Trigger cited his motivation and excitement z1n will bring to this aging CoD team. Coming from one of the top Call of Duty: United Offensive teams, z1N is one of the first UO players to earn recognition in Call of Duty 2 and the young German has finally been given an opportunity to show his talent.

Fuchstute, the team's inspirational captain, talked of the team's effort to regain the number one spot in European Call of Duty 2.

Quote"After we played very successful in the last year, our performance decreased at the end of the year. The reasons were that we played too much and practiced too little. We didn’t move forward but rather on the same level. Other teams outran us.

At the beginning of the year we decide to accept the challenge to fight back to the head of Europe. But L-King decides to leave us, because he saw more potential in Tek-9.

It was not possible to work for new tactics with a 4 player lineup so we started with the search for a new player. After some discussions we thought about a 6 player lineup because not every of us wanted to play 5 days per week nearly the whole year. Thus the search for 2 new players which could help us with our comeback started. Comparatively fast we decide to take in z1N as the first player. His friendly character, his ambitions and the behavior in the game convinced us.

Unfortunately we didn’t find a 6th player who fit in our lineup. We played with a handful different players but nobody couldn’t convince us. We really wanted to have a 6 player lineup, so we are a sad about this fact. But no we are very motivated to get back, why we don’t want to wait till we will find a last player."

That leaves the new 'junnnggggs' screaming Speedlink lineup as:

Germany Fuschstute
Germany Trigger
Germany phy1
Germany nightwalker
Germany z1N

Mint joins Dignitas

12/1 odd outsider Martin "mint" Röjder has joined the Dignitas CoD2 team today. After leaving serious gaming during the past few days he has moved across to pond to one the UK's biggest gaming organisations. Mint placed third at the first CPC with WHOCrew and since moved on to bigger and better things with Check6 and serious Gaming, winning Eurocup XIII in glorious fashion.

He had the following to say:
Quoteimage: photo4541
I'm happy to join team dignitas at this moment in time. I really feel like I can fill a role in the team and the more we play together I'm positive it will develope into something really good. I've always believed in trying to get better and develop as a player all the time and in joining this team I believe I have found the right place for that. The opportunity also came at a good time having just left serious due to a mix of lineup issues and real life commitments, everything is sorted now and I think that the stable organisation and the people running it will be a major part in shaping this team that I'm very pleased to be a part of.

No smoke grenades at CPC2

image: 300px-Papierosa_1_ubt_0069After shgOpen moved with no smoke, the community has been long divided over the issue as to whether to allow smoke grenades in any competition due to potential bug exploits.

After watching shgOpen and taking a poll of several clan leaders, we have decided to follow shgOpen and remove smoke from the CoD2 competition. With only one vote infavour of keeping smoke from the people we polled, the decision became pretty obvious and smoking has been removed.

There will be no smoke at CPC2
