If you cast your minds back 5-6 months you will remember an attempt from the CoD2.EU scene to get ourselves a spot at WSVG. Although it was semi successful it got the attention of several WSVG admins.
But time passed and people lost faith and the campaign faltered. But now thanks to the article
"Two Dozen Reasons" the passion has been rekindled. This time we have help from the American community and
Phillip "
palmz" Palmer from the highly successfull European clan
Dignitas is holding meetings with the leaders of the US campaign and trying to co-ordinate our efforts so we make an impact.
So you are wondering what you can do to help? The answer is simple, you can idle at the following IRC's as the community is aiming at around 2000 on the IRC by christmas to get the attention again of the WSVG admins.
#cod24wsvg @ quakenet
#cod24wsvg @ gamesurge
On top of idling take this article and add it to your clan websites or community sites to help spread the word please.
If you are interested in getting involved or knowing more you can contact
palmz on IRC or by emailing him on
[email protected].
We would also like to thank TeamHost for supporting this matter who will stand by us all the way. You can find TeamHosts web site located at
here who provide good quality servers and voice servers.
Update
After the first meeting the following points and ideas came up.
1. Promotional Movie - This needs to be done ASAP, DOD has one, we need one. If you need an example you can go to AmpedeSports.com and watch the ESWC reloaded video.
2. Website - Not a big cause but in the future we will be investigating hosting our own website to support CoD2 at not only the WSVG but other major LANs as well.
3. Proposals - We are in the process of getting contacts within a plethora of corporations to draft and write up proposals to sponsor CoD2.
4. CoD2TV - We have been investigating the potential of coding a TV client for CoD2.
5. Unifying Gameplay - Euro's play with one sniper and all the leagues here in the US play with different settings. We need to agree on common server settings and weapon selections to unify gameplay.
