EC Group C Tiebreaker Series

image: eurocup14ClanBase ET EuroCup XIV group C is the closest ever seen in an EC group. So close, in fact, that it's tied for second place, with Poland Fear Factory, Finland sFx Murso and Finland Incomplete all having one win and two losses, with a round difference of -4.

Tonight will see a battle royale as the tiebreaker matches to decide the final outcome of this group and the team that will go through to the playoffs as the second team from group C, after idle.ee, are played. These tiebreaker games will be played on a single map, chosen by combining the map preferences of the teams playing - this map will be the ET stalwart of radar!

First up we see the battle of the Finns, with sFx Murso taking on Incomplete. The first time round this matchup was won by Murso. Perhaps more importantly it was also Murso who took radar in that game, but it was by no means a secure victory and with it all on the line, anything could happen this time.

The second matchup of the evening will see Fear Factory take on the loser of sFx vs Incomplete at 21:00 CET, while the third and final game of the night at 21:30 CET will see Fear Factory against the winner of the first match to decide the group once and for all.

UPDATE: sFx Murso take the playoff spot with well fought wins against incomplete and Fear Factory.

Here comes Quakecon!

image: Quakecon_logoThe greatest lan event on the planet has announced its 2007 unprecedently early! Not that the date itself is any earlier but Quakecon does appear to be geared up to blow our minds once again. Whether it was iNfensus versus cK in 2002, GMPO versus Affliction in 2003, Idle versus u5 in 2005 or Crossfire versus KiH in 2006, Quakecon has always warmed the hearts of mp40 bearing souls.

QuoteThat’s right! It may be winter outside, but it’s time to start planning that summer vacation to the ultimate multiplayer gaming event and party – QuakeCon 2007. We’re locked and loaded for August 2-5, 2007 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, TX, and we’ve got more gaming, events, exhibits and fun planned than ever before.

This year’s BYOC Area will consume the entire Trinity Hall 1, with over 70,000 square feet of floor space and 2,700 player spots – over 1,000 more seats than 2006. We’ve also increased the exhibit area 5X to 25,000 square feet, enough to accommodate up to 50 exhibitors demonstrating their latest games and computer hardware. Of course, it wouldn’t be QuakeCon without our high-stakes pro gaming tournaments; and attendees can also look forward to the return and expansion of our enormously popular and one-of-a-kind “Quick Draw” tournaments, which pit randomly selected attendees against each other in high-pressure battles for serious cash. And in keeping with QuakeCon tradition, every day will be packed full of contests, conferences, announcements, and entertainment.

The Hilton Anatole was a hugely popular venue with the players last event in comparisson to the Gaylord ranch, its location is right along the same street as many other hotels and just 5 minutes taxi from downtown Dallas.

suXus gets some fresh oxygen

image: suxus_esports
Dutch multigaming clan Netherlands suXus eSports, possibly known by you for their CoD2 team who ended third at the Netgamez and is also active in the Call of Duty 2 EuroCup, has decided to make a surprising move towards the Enemy Territory scene by adding the Estonian powerhouse Estonia Oxygen.ET to the organisation.

Very unexpected one man might say, and well suXus itself tells us that they have been looking for an ET team in the past few weeks. The head of management of suXus Netherlands L3oN had the following to say:

We were looking for an Enemy Territory team because we have seen a lot of attention for the game lately, with LANs like the crossfire LAN, ETTV, large community sites we feel competitive Enemy Territory is at the point of reaching another level, and we want to be part of this change, that’s we started looking for a team in the game. We have considered a few teams, primary we were looking for Dutch teams only but I guess competitive gaming in The Netherlands is dominated by Counter-Strike and Call of Duty, so we started to look outside The Netherlands for teams from Belgium and other country’s close around.. The search didn’t really work well. A few days ago however we got in contact with a Enemy Territory team playing in the premier levels of Enemy Territory. The team was called Oxygen.ET and they were about to leave their current multigaming clan because of an inactive management. After some long talks we decided that Oxygen.ET would be the perfect team to represent us in the Enemy Territory scene..

GameArena Grand Final !

Turn on your alarm clock, grab a bowl of Corn Flakes and skip the Hollyoaks omnibus - today is the GameArena Season 8 Grand Final !

Can Adversus follow up their minor premiership and become the first team to take back-to-back GA ET titles. Will Modus Operandi take revenge after their season 7 falter, and show us why they've been a stalwart of ET over the years? We'll find out this Sunday!

In the GA ET grand final, both teams nominate a map of their choice. The first team to take two rounds on a map wins the map, and teams must win two maps to take the title. If both teams take a map each, the match will move on to the tie-breaker map. Adversus have nominated SW Goldrush TE, while Modus Operandi have chosen Supply Depot. The tie-breaker map is Beach.

Gamestah's Ej & BoB will be calling their eighth consecutive GA final, and there will be hundred of ETTV slots available in order to watch the action.

Upcoming EuroCup matches!

image: etec

In this years EuroCup, we've seen some thrilling matches in all the groups.
But, there still are some upcoming matches. Check it out!

Sunday 17 December
uQ - mQ
vib - aMenti

In Group A, Europe uQ-gaming will face Europe mQ tonight. In this match we will surely see some nice action from both sides.
Quotemize: I think mQ will crush uQ like a cooky np4us. did i write 'cooky' right? cookie or something

In group B, the Belgians, vib, will face the always strong aMenti. Is vib able to save their reputation against aMenti? Check it out at 20:30h!

Monday 18 December
cdap - aMenti
NETR - zP!

On Monday 18 December, we'll see a close match in Group B. The surprising team Europe cdap - pi will face Europe aMenti.
QuoteaMenti|Winghaven: well, we didn't pracc a lot those days and cdap is a really strong team. I think it will a close match but we're going to lose 4-2

Will Europe cdap - pi or Europe aMenti reach the second round?
Quotecdap|toxic: Well i think it will be a very close game. aMenti had roster probs begginning of EC and we've had activity probs during it. If they beat vib [which is expected] they will qualify for sure and would only need to take a map from us to qualify as first. But im still positive that we have what it takes to pick up the victory and advance to the playoffs, dont wanna say a score [im a supersticious guy :P] but hopefully we'll win =)

Back to the most surprising group of all groups; Group A. On 18 December at 22:00h the Poland NETRUNNERS will face Sweden zP! in a match considering the first place of the group. Check it out!
QuotezP|gifty: NETR are surely one of the best teams around in that EuroCup, but since I know what we can do, I suppose we got good chances to win that tight match :)

Thursday 21 December
zP! - NETR

This day will have the last chance for Sweden zP! to get the first place in Group A, if they've won against Poland NETRUNNERS on Monday 18 December.
Will they succeed?
