Idle could lose Urtier and Senji

After a school shooting in Germany on the 20th of November, German Politicians are pointing the finger the direction of violent video games after it was discovered that the criminal played CounterStrike a "killer game". Germany currently has one of the strictest gaming laws in the world, with GIGA unable to show ET until after 23.00 CET, hense the scheduling for this seasons IPS.

Jörg Schönbohm, the interior minister of the eastern state of Brandenburg said:
QuoteKiller games make a fatal contribution to a growing tendency towards violence and they promote aggressive behavior. That's why strict action is needed against games that glorify violence

Germany is one of the largest gaming nations, and a strong force in the professional gaming arena. Events such as cebit and games convention top even the biggest American Entertainment shows and any potential changes to law put an estimated 2 billion euro and 1.7 million gamers future at risk.

Many people have long sought a way to beat idle, it appears that crazy politicians may be the answer after all. In other news, zeroPoint & aMenti have filed complaints with Clanbase stating that Night is actually German and the long lost brother of Pumu.

Born dead, buried alive...

image: logoToday is the day. Vicious and Evil is proud to announce their new ET Team and Webpage. Long time ago our first ET Team with Germany Benjamin biqq R. left to play under the flag of Germany Team-Helix. That was right before the first Crossfire LAN, so we decided to take our time till we get a new Team.
So we are proud now to announce the new area of Vicious and Evil, with 3 Squads in 3 different games. Only our new ET team might be interesting for you, that’s why I keep it short and will announce the former Sweden Knö I hörn as one of the new Vicious and Evil EnemyTerritory Team. With Sweden smutzig as the Captain they are going to play the Clanbase Opencup in the Premier Group.
The history of Knö I horn is a long one but smutzig tries to tell you the main facts about the Team.

Sweden smutzig:
Quote KiH all began back in the days of Rocket Arena 2 when fette and westi started up KiH for the first time. After we got tired of Quake2 ra2 we started playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein, a game unfamilar to us, first being at the bottom of the scene we made to the top tier in no time. We've been kinda on/off for the last year trudging about in the et swamp.

After they made the 2. Place at the RTCW Eurocup X and the 1. Place at Warleagues they had some achievements at minor RTCW tournaments. Their latest success is the 3. Place at the Quakecon 2006 ET Tournament. Their first main goal is to attend and be successful at the upcoming Crossfire LAN #2.

Mainlineup:
Sweden smutzig
Sweden fette
Sweden askungen
Sweden arnjee
Sweden lelle
Norway zerom

The second ET Team is the old silentium Team who are playing in the 2nd divison of the Clanbase Opencup. Their lineup can be found here.
Currently we are looking for a new CoD 2 Team and a Quake 4 Team, since our old Quake 4 TDM Team is playing Warcraft 3.Dota now. Newsposter and tons of beer are welcome aswell.

Crossfire ATi player Austria Potter had this to say:

QuoteThe experience was unreal! The Gameplay camera men followed us during some of our matches and the reactions, then the whole team spent some time infront of a white screen filming interviews and joking around together. It really was an experience like a sporting event and one I wont forget.

CoD Upsets abound in EuroCup Week 1

image: eurocupIt would be almost an understatement to say that the opening week of the CoD2 EuroCup XIV has been packed with surprises and of the three top teams in Europe (as voted in the Gotfrag Rankings), not one has come out of Week 1 as expected. The news that Serious-Gaming, the defending champions, would not be competing this season was met with disappointment and now both Logitech.fi and Dignitas have suffered first round defeats.

Logitech went up against the unknown Entropy side, constructed mainly of players from Serious-Gaming, who formed temporarily after the news that their team would not be taking part this season. After a strong performance in Sweden at the WonderBase LAN event, Logitech were one of the favourites going into this EuroCup but were left reeling after a 13-11 loss against Entropy. Despite a valiant effort from the ever-reliable Sec, Logitech were made to work for every round on Dawnville and the score is a fair reflection of the way the match played out.

Finland Logitech.fi (11:13) Finland Entropy

The next upset was to feature two teams that have recently undergone lineup changes, the European heavyweights digitalMind and Dignitas. Dignitas had just picked up Palmz from Reason while digitalMind had managed to secure the services of Solz from H2k. Both teams went into the match knowing defeat would put them in a difficult position in Group C but it was the Dutch team of digitalMind that rose to the occasion, winning in convincing fashion. Troubling times lie ahead for Dignitas and they will look to get back on track against a struggling dSlash side in Week 2. DigitalMind on the other hand have sent a message to the top teams of Europe that they are not to be underestimated and their new lineup seems to have worked a treat.

Netherlands digitalMind (13:6) United Kingdom Team Dignitas

In other results, Reason seemed to have suffered no ill effects from the loss of Palmz as they took down TooEasy in convincing fashion. Tek-9 overcame the potential hiccup that was inteRaction, the Czech team that everybody is talking about right now. The Multiplay i29 finalists CSA also got off to a good start, taking down a troubled H2k.steelseries side 13 to 10 while Speedlink shut down TmG to show that they mean business

We now go into Week 2 with an altogether different perspective with big names such as H2k, Dignitas and Logitech all under pressure to perform. H2k in particular will have a hard time going up against a determined Speedlink side. Other exciting match ups include Entropy versus Copenhagen-Esports and Reason versus the up and coming suXus.

Second Crossfire LAN Postponed

The second Crossfire LAN that was scheduled for Febuary of 2007 has been postponed. It has been tentatively rescheduled until the weekend of the The date is to be formally confirmed in the new year It's remaining in the same location in the Netherlands and will still be partnered with Wzzrd.

We cannot reveal a great deal of information for this postponement at this present time, as we are obliged to remain quiet about information that has been revealed to us by other tournament organisers. However we can say that the postponement is for a good reason, and that we have on good authority that the previous date of the Crossfire LAN clashed with another event that will be running both Enemy Territory and Call of Duty prized LAN tournaments.

Crossfire felt it important to work with them to make sure that we can maximise each events potential for our community rather than compete with them.

There will be more information released in the coming weeks.

dM raid H2K again!

Dutch Call of Duty has often in recent times broken down into a two horse race between digitalMind and H2k(TMP) and the pendulum of power has swung from H2k well and truly to digitalMind but now the situation and the pendulum has taken a turn to the bizzare with digitalMind most certainly out on top.

Since H2k's 4th place at the Crossfire lan things have taken a turn for the worse, capitulating in a Netgamez tournament that did the side no favours what so ever. Not long ago digitalMind seized the initiative and turned to H2k for replacements picking up Netherlands zem and rapz and now they've turned to one of the sides biggest names.

To replace the outbound Roy, digitalMind have picked up their third H2k player in the shape of Solz who, as interviewed here on Crossfire was one of the biggest characters in the team, not only that but on of the most vital players. Solz is one of the few survivors from the old Northern Darkness team who went on to become TMPClan and finally homing with H2k, however some 3 months later he leaves to organisation for one of their biggest Dutch rivals, a team Solz even cited as a rival back in October.

The switch see's dM lineup as follows:

Netherlands rikk
Netherlands nutec
Netherlands zem
Netherlands rapz
Netherlands solz
Netherlands roy

Rumours of H2k's demise are greatly exaggerated however as the side have vowed to continue with big guns Joepoe, Doekoe, lrs and qwertY looking for a new friend!

Humm3L can finnish mystic

image: eurocupIn what has been a real baptism of fire for the returning Parodia legends and they're now faced with 2 days that could end their Eurocup season and destroy reputations they spent many a night building.

Last night Sweden noll8 ripped Finland sFx (aMonkeys) apart with a performance that was nearing perfection for the swedes, however the question remains where were the names and reputations of the finns? Average is about the kindest word for some of these stars and the performance as a whole draws far harsher words. Tonight they face Europe [<<] who themselves face the biggest opportunity to rekindle their RTCW based reputation from many a moon ago.

Lead by the charismatic Russia Humm3L, the former Highbot side have never been far away from the public spotlight with a few effervescent characters, but it is tonight when not only must they win to save their own Eurocup season after defeat to helix, however they can really make a name for themselves by condemning returning champions to exit in the fastest possible fashion.

It is ironic that tonight is the night when Barcelona can become the first reigning European Champion to bow out at the first hurdle, and sFx powered by Mystic, sAintt, Xpaz and Jauhis, 4 of the 6 European Parodia champions could set their own record for parachuting out of Eurocup without a trace. It is all on the line tonight as we see the first team bow out from Eurocup, the loser of this game goes home very empty handed.

Who's Eurocup season ends tonight, Humm3L's or mystics?
