Some would argue sportsmanship is a privilege. There are others who see sportsmanship as unnecessary, maybe even a flaw. If one team can talk another into weakness and get the better of them, is that not a skill in itself? Some could argue it is unjust, unorthodox and most of all immature. Others could just as easily argue that "if you can't handle some typing you should quit gaming".

In this article I wont talk too much about the matches at CDC4, but rather the LAN itself and the challenges ETQW faces.

The tournament

CDC4 was a fantastic event, statistically speaking it was a monster of an event and it dwarfed everything that had gone before it in the project. That being the case, its quite fitting that the series should bow out on a high as there will not be a CDC5, but that doesn’t mean the end of LANs run by this group.

As I write this column, I sit on a train headed for Enschende. I can't help remark on how comfy these seats are, seriously, trains are horrifically uncomfortable and are usually looked after by burly men who look like they wan tot rape you. D:

We’re drawing ever closer to CDC4 and from my point of view, I’m really excited. Not only because it will be my first CDC event but the shear anticipation encompassing the ET side of the proceedings is quite frankly, immense. True, we’ve had competition for the title before and true, the event has been over-hyped massively but come on, the only thing we need at the event now is a powerhouse such as MPG.

It’s that time again, the last days before CDC and finally the ‘to do’ list is almost gone and I can actually sit back and think about the tournaments, and we really do have a mouth watering line up of teams in all the games. If you’re someone that looks at a tournament and thinks what a match that will be then you’re in for the weekend of your life!

Dear gamers and gamelovers,

As we all know cheaters are one of the biggest problems in the online-gaming scene. They make people dislike the game, they give the game a bad reputation and they are just plain annoying.

Well, what can we really say about Dignitas’ Quake Wars team? So far in the short time we’ve had a competitive Quake Wars scene, Dignitas has been the driving force in the community and the one team to beat above all others. Some have come close, yet have never really had the capabilities of achieving what this outfit has done. Quakecon, the Crossfire QCUP, the Clanbase OpenCup and more recently the Packard Bell EU Open, you name it and these guys have won it.

This was going to be a journal, but I got carried away and wrote too much.

I think the majority of people here know that the MAIN problem with ET is that of cheaters. It's a free game and with that you attract a certain amount of people that choose to exploit that game by using hacks or bots.
