Reigning champions, who until last weekends events had a air of invincibility about themselves, and even looking at the greater picture still do.. Breezing through the last two Eurocups with only hiccups in the form of deMiurge, Northern Darkness and last season’s challenger zeroPoint! Most will look at Dignitas failings over the weekend and point to the fact that talisman Estonia Night wasn't there, and sol was a somewhat Disappointment in direct comparison however he remains as the 7th for the side. It would be easy to think that the side would simply pick up where they left off, and with this seemingly straightforward group they will have time to repair any damage done to there confidence/egos', if any! As with all things its not that simply,
zeroPoint will surely want to seek revenge from the humbling experiences back in Denmark Denmark, and with a new line up incoming I think they have the opportunity to step up another level if the 6th is the right man for the job. The proven credibility of United Kingdom TRL.eSports new Herculean 6th, Belgium mAus and another strong performance from United Kingdom Impact draw the lines of whom they need to be wary of. This promises to be Dignitas greatest Eurocup challenge/defence to remain as number one, and its a challenge that might even see them step up into another gear and usher in a new level of competition?
Let’s hope so. I think Dignitas would be embarrassed with anything other than finishing in the top two.

The former Negative Image side, fresh in some clothes have a lot to prove if they wish to keep the name. However, fresh from impressing me and keeping my predictions in check by last term qualifying for the playoffs. This season sees' them once again pairing up with United Kingdom Dignitas in the group stage, and surely fighting for the 2nd spot once again. A tasty line up, with the new inclusion of former cdap #stfu and one4eone superstar Finland Squallii, ironing out some of the weaknesses from the side and leaving something looking really rather potent. A wealth of experience with the likes of Finland kmble, chmpp and
MulSu as riflenader make for a rock solid foundation on its own, and when you consider that they are probably not even the teams best players makes it more appealing to once again back them to firstly tonight overcome the new swedes on the block, who eventually play in a Eurocup after failed outings in Rewind and Overdose variations, and then to and more importantly overcome the potentially much harder opposition of zerobarrier especially given there new line up changes. It will be a straightforward fight for 2nd in the second game, hopefully the work will have been done going into the last game against Dignitas without having to wish the impossible and get a result from that game.

Possibly not the side they once were, but eventually given their chance in a qualifier against vigorZ which they won, quite comfortably in all fairness, looking especially slick on Frostbite despite conceding a very beatable time. A 5th place under the dtekt name at Denmark SHG Open for some of these players probably tipped the scales for the supervisor, who really had no alternative but to take note of there recent achievements. Some of they players are still draped in suspicion but no where as much as when they were under the rewind name.
The fate of uC is hard to predict, they are a good clan who are active enough (when they do eventually find someone who will play them) but the problems as usual, isn't there own. Placed in possibly the hardest group against a Dignitas side which will take the top spot by default, and 2 sides who fortunes are on the up with recent acquisitions to bolster there already experienced line-ups. The first game tonight will give a good indication of how well the uC side will fair in Eurocup, but at the moment they are easily dismissed to finish at the bottom of a tough group.

Maybe a case of same shit, different name ? It certainly looked the case, especially when the announcement of the demise of cZar as a multi-gaming clan that there ET were going to be using the zero barrier name; stirring somewhat of an air of bitterness from some of the old timers and RTCW players. Forwarding some what and a great performance at CPC has seen many opinions change, and rightly so. On its own i would have predicted a tense battle with Insignia Cadre for the 2nd spot however, with the new Benelux line up i.e. taking in ovrboost, and BuLL. They may have finally have found the right mixture of players to finally steer some of these players to there first Eurocup play off spot, who for season after season remained ever so close (xZone/cZar at EuroCup XIII being the highlight). With the exception of Belgium zeto all of these players gave fantastic performances at CPC2 and will be going into Eurocup full of confidence but a first game confrontation with United Kingdom Dignitas, may blow the wind out of their sails but if they conduct themselves properly then they should bounce back well for the match of the group and decide the fate for the rest of their season and who qualifies to play the winner of group D.

Predicted Final Standings

1 - United Kingdom Dignitas
2 - Finland Insignia Cadre
3 - Belgium Zero barrier
4 - Sweden ultimate Conspiracy

Players to watch

United Kingdom Dignitas

Estonia Night : Find myself struggling to watch anyone else from the Dignitas side, sheer game sense and solid aim, but uber brain make this maestro the main man for me!

Finland Insignia Cadre

Finland Squallii : A lot can be said of his actions away from the game, but there is no denying the fact that he is a star where it counts. Joining an already established and strong, single nation team has had a immediate impact and will continue to shine on the big stage.

Belgium Zero Barrier

Netherlands ovrboost : One of the recent dutch pairing to join up with the Belgian hot shots, fresh for a new Eurocup, he has been inactive very inactive. He steps back onto the big stage after 2 seasons away from competitive high level competition and his hunger will drive him to succeed. When he is completely active again and firing on all cylinders, he will be insatiable and with aim that makes even the top guys envious just shows how good he really is.

Sweden ultimate Conspiracy

Sweden Nils : It would be a lot safer to go for the nuggans and jonas as the players to watch (and not for the reasons your thinking of!), but something about Nils has always made me wonder how good he really is. Well he's on the biggest stage and has the whole world watching. He won the Qualifier encounter against vigorZ in my opinion single handedly. Not the greatest aimer, but something strikes you about him and you see he is a intelligent player in his right
